...wasn't this a joke write-up? I got the impression that the OP (AWESOME JOB, by the way) was just kidding around and made this thread, giving it an almost satirical professionalism, etc.

I laughed--hard--but now I'm not sure if I should, because people are reacting seriously. This was supposed to be a joke/funny thread...right? :D

Tossgirl is obvious their 2nd best Terran, after CuteAngel of course!

Yes.

GO SHUTTLE. STX shall be carried to victory on your shoulders.

Huge rant on STX manager

I'm not quite sure if you're serious since this thread is mostly a shitfest where people can hate STX. For the sake of the argument, and the fact that your wrote quite alot, let's assume that you're completely serious.

Every team needs his clutch player and STX hasn't really.

STX doesn't have an ACE player, what's new? They've had some luck in the individual leagues with Kal and Calm, are you really saying the coach is doing a bad job by sending them out in ACE games? If there's someone that should step up to take a win it's them. And c'mon, sending out July? We love that sumo but there's no chance he's going to catch another title or win 50%+ of his games these days.

You're ranting that the STX coach has no clue and randomly players to the games, at the same time you're pointing out Modesty as a lucky ZvZ player. How about checking his records? Do you think there's a coincidence that he has 38 zvz games while his zvt and zvp only stacks up to 27? It's because the coach predicts and is able to use modesty in the only way he can, as a ZvZ player. Because quite honestly, he's a terrible player in the other matchups.

Most players are good vs protoss, Calm Hero and Shuttle all have very high win percentage, while there aren't many players that are good versus terran. The Coach said recently in an interview that he wants a terran player for the team but there aren't anyone for sale now, at the same time their younger terrans hasn't really showed much yet (Last Bogus).. It's a weak spot but it's difficult to do something about, even though he's a coach he couldn't predict that their only decent terranplayer would be banned for life, halfway hrough the season.

I know it's trendy to hate STX, all the cool kids are doing it. But even though they're in a slump the finished 2nd in the regular season and even if they can't get out of their slump until the semi's they still get at least Bronze.

They deserve some love even in these shitfest of a thread !

STX has a reliable protoss in (P)Kal, plus a decent backup in (P)Shuttle.

(Z)Calm ought to be out of his slump by the Semi-Final, while (Z)hero and (Z)Modesty can still perform ZvP and ZvZ respectively.

But everyone already knows that the team has good protosses and zerg(s). As for the terran lineup, (T)Frozean, (T)Last, and (T)Bogus together cover all match ups. They are all proficient in TvZ and hit-or-miss in TvT. The latter two players cover TvP.

Let me say this first: my rant was entirely serious, though I completely understood the OP to be joking. My hate is solely directed to the p.o.s. that is the STX coach, since I respect, and like, many of the STX players. It was merely triggered by the joke the OP was making, since it struck me as weird that an SKT1 fan would complete the cycle of threads for STX, even though they reached 2nd place in the regular season. Then things clicked together and I understood that something is deeply wrong with the team.

The STX coach sealed the deal with his remark in the P.O. day1 interview when he said that Shuttle wouldn't get a game since he was not good enough in practice. A real coach would never say that in public. Coaching is all about instilling confidence, and you can see the difference between a good coach like coach Park who'll send out Canata in clutch situations and praising the terran veteran afterwards, and a bad coach like the STX one who'll rag on the players that are slumping, which is similar to a kicking a man while he's down. Coaches like him disgust me. This manager is the reason that all the excellent players from STX SouL like July, Hero, Calm, Shuttle, Frozen, Bogus, and even Kal, perform way under their abilities, especially in important, pressurizing situations.

Well, looks like STX is out. On paper they have an amazing team....don't know what happened
Morrow on ZvP: "I'm not very confident in general vs Protoss because of the imbalance (Yes its imbalanced, get over it)."

The only miscalculation in this report is regarding CuteAngel. As the STX manager foolishly utilized his ultimate ace player in the regular sets instead of the ace sets, the doom of the team was sealed.

If the interview wasn't mistranslated, I agree with this particular point about that comment wholeheartedly. (And the comment about Bogus could be interpreted in a negative way as well, since he wasn't sent out Day 2.) Now it's probably very difficult for us fans to know if the manager was one of the factors responsible for the STX players' slumps, but it can't be denied that managers and coaches have a huge impact on how well players perform. MBCGame Hero had a particular bad run that ended when the manager or head coach was replaced, and anecdotes did slip out that the guy replaced made the environment very poor for the team, so that was one situation where we do know as fans that the coaching staff made a very negative impact.

The "forward-looking statements" part of this writeup is freaking hilarious. Gotta comply with the SEC Kespa when doing a public offering.
