By the time STX does get to show its stuff, all their players might have come out of their slumps. Just wait and see.

Though it doesn't really surprise me, when you've got such a disfunctional team with such a dumb manager. Every team needs his clutch player and STX hasn't really. Kal and Clam are unreliable at best, with one a choker and the other no team player. Hero and Shuttle lack confidence. Hwasin and July aren't even on the roster any more :/ Modesty is a one match up wonder, but I wouldn't play him against a zerg ace anyway. And don't get me started on the STX terran line... Though Zona has the right idea, the only man on the team right now is Frozen. Problem is that he's very bad under pressure, so sending him out for ace is not a possibility. The coach of STX... There are a couple of teams that have bad management ranging from ineffective (estro) to criminal (Hite Sparkyz before the scandal), and STX SouL's in the boat with the one from Woongjin Stars. Nice team, lovely atmosphere, but no killer instinct and no fucking clue. So many good players, such a strong bench, but count on the coach to send out the choker (Kal, Zero) for ace and the slumper (Clam, Guemchi/Piano) in every goddamn match when perfectly fine players (July/Hero, Kwanro/MVP) get too little playtime. It mystifies me that MVP got a shitload of games when he was terrible, and now that he's half decent, he barely gets one. Though Kwanro is no superman, he's got a unique style and actually performs better under pressure. Still he has to endure Guemchi getting games instead. With a little prediction skills you can put Hero or even July in situations where they'll kill a superior player. Hero could be the Best of STX, and July the Iris/Canata/Nada. Instead, Calm is sent out twice every other match while in a slump, Kal becomes the ace that loses to anyone half decent (look out for him losing to Shine when it does come to a STX vs Wemade) and the rest is sent out almost randomly, winning games by sheer luck rather than plan. Finest example is the Shuttle vs ForGG ace match, when Shuttle couldn't believe his luck when he dodged flash and got a ForGG that at that moment only had his tvz going for him. One thing is for sure: Frozen will win at least one game and it will be epic. Besides that I predict that Hero won't play a toss, Shuttle won't play a macro map, Clam will fuck around (though he might still win), Kal will dominate a couple of noobs and then choke, Modesty will lose a zvz and the rest will be ugly filler. I apologize for this rant, but I feel that this team had it coming for a long time. My coach once told me that you can recognize who actually has a clue and who doesn't. Interestingly enough most athletes and many coaches really don't. They'll win against others like themselves, but suddenly lose when they face those that are smart, that play the mind games, that improve upon their game. In the group of newbies that I am training with, you'd randomly have someone who'd beat everyone one day, and I'd be like, hey coach, doesn't that guy have talent? And my coach would laugh and point out that the same guy lost more than he won in the previous weeks. And next time you'd have someone else who'd win everything out of nowhere and the same story happens again. But when a guy came round that, although a newbie, did know what he was doing, you saw him progress slowly from losing more, to breaking even, to winning most of his games. It's that solid progression that shows true quality. Teams like MBC, CJ entus, SKT1, and to a lesser extent KT Rolster and Hwaseung Oz, have that quality. Even Airforce ace, with their determined coach, know what they're doing. Woongjin Stars, STX SouL, and Estro, and to a lesser extent Samsung KHAN, however, don't have a clue. They randomly do well and randomly lose, never performing above expectations, often going below. They don't learn from mistakes, they don't learn from success. Everyone, deep inside, knows this. Even the STX SouL fans, and it's no coincidence that eventually a SKT1 fan, belatedly, decides to make a (joke) thread on STX's chances.

We'll see if the players recover during the break - but given that the slide started early in R5 and hasn't been stopped throughout more than the entire month, I don't think chances are good that the extra time will help. It'd be MORE exciting if they found their form though.

Or just send out the usual A-team in hopes that they can regain their mojo and momentum.
