General gist: Because of SKT (see here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=136383), OGN relents and changed the group ceremony from the 16th to the 21st.

I really like this decision. 3 hrs of practice before a match this important, and with maps being announced very late, are absolutely crucial.

Now it just looks like SKT can do whatever they want and everyone bends around them. They shouldn't have changed the dates.

For a situation as unfortunate as this to happen. There is only one way to look, and it's at the cause. We need better planning in the future to prevent this from happening again, because, the past is past. And we can only hope to prevent such a mistake from happening in the future.

good decision by ogn. it was just a bad organization to have the group ceremony right before the playoff games when the maps are announced late, and fantasy even had to prepare for tonights msl games aswell...

OGN "bend around them" because they have an all-important playoff match on Saturday, for which they had very short notice on the map order. They decided not to send their players, and OGN changed the date for the best of all parties involved. For me that's the best possible solution, both for the teams and for the fans.

You were an idiot in the other thread and you're an idiot here.

For anyone else who thinks this is SKT getting their way unfairly:

The first and foremost mistake was the maps being distributed for only 2 days of practice. As BW fans it is better for us to have this OSL ceremony delayed so all teams will have ample practice in addition to equal practice time.

Again, it doesn't matter that SKT was the one who made the decision to withdraw. Any other team with 3 OSL qualifiers would have probably done the same. You can replace SKT with any other team and it still makes sense. Both SKT and the OSL people who decided to reverse their decision should be applauded. This is a win-win.

So then if next week, we will see the winners of SKT/CJ and WMF/MBC decide to pull their players out because of that playoff match? Probably.

Ridiculous how OGN have succumbed to a silly move from SKT.

EDIT: Never mind, I just realised they moved it to a Wednesday. Still....

Wtf? It was a clear problem, they simply did something to fix it by SKT's recommendation.

CJ have Effort and Hydra. WMF + MBC have Sea and Pure so if you add them all up it's four all-together.

"Wednesday" was exactly what I wanted to tell you. Also, the day the maps are released highly matters. And as Ack noted, SKT1 has their three best players (at the moment) in that group selection.

Think about if this happened without any incidents:

CJ has Effort and Hydra, WMF and MBC both have one. I don't know why you are grouping players together from different teams to get 5. <--- lol

If SKT loses their important match [ in regards to rankings ] do you really think that's fair, as a fan of SC progaming that they are punished for having 3 of their team qualify for an OSL.

What if CJ had 4 qualifying players and their next match could decide whether they advance in proleague or not...would you really say its fair then? This should be a no-brainer.

You also have to consider that SKT basically did CJ a FAVOR by forcing the move. Effort and Hydra also have additional time to prepare now.

Agreed. Anyway I'm done with the topic and happy how this turned out. It's rare in progaming to see organizers do the right thing given an unforeseen circumstance.

On another note, the team fanboyism on this site is really disgusting. Who gives a fuck what team it is, try to use logic some time. If it was CJ doing this, lots of people in this thread and the other one wouldn't be saying anything or defending CJ to the death. Writer's bias is really apparent on TL.

Just wasn't planned well in the first place. They should observe these things while making the original schedule and consider the implications. Better planning from the onset would have made this a moot point.

As for the issue/resolution, everything seems pretty fair. They are covering an unpredicted problem, without causing that much of a hassle. I'm sure if it was that big of an issue with the other teams, another solution would have been found.
When you are prepared, there's no such thing as pressure.

There is no doubt denying however SKT's press release was the major factor in their decision.
If it were really because of the PL Playoffs, they would have announced this on Wednesday or something, not 24 hours before the initially scheduled date.

I just wanted to add some more "nonsense", thought it was funny, sorry if I bothered you.

But I seriously think this is the best decision for every side, I don't care that the ceremony got delayed, if that is going to let us see better games in PO, so be it.

Pretty much this.

Seriously, it's just a ceremony. Moving the ceremony to another day so that players from ALL teams can prepare better for the play-offs is a brilliant move. It's done for the sake of every player who will participate in the first round of the play-offs, not just T1's.

So yea like someone mentioned above, T1 has basically done CJ (as well as FOX and MBC) a favor.

Wow talk about dumbass move by OGN to schedule a ceremony that very few cares about right before an epic playoffs match that only happens once a year. Good they got it together and changed the date though, OGN are too quality to make such mistakes.

AdministratorHey HP can you redo everything youve ever done because i have a small complaint?

I hope not. We know the major reason why it was changed: SKT pulled out from the ceremony, and CJ stated "OGN scheduling something like the group ceremony right before PO is just BS"

Although, it does say that OGN contacted every single team about the rescheduling, so I don't see additional problems here, besides bashing at SKT1.

well then...i should've read this thread first before commenting the other =\

well i'm glad that they resolved the issue. Yes it may have been a lame move by SKT, but the fact that the date changed saved a lot of hours of practice for not just SKT, but also CJ and whatever other teams are gonna be playing between that time.

I approve of this decision. Best way for all the players to show good games in playoffs.

What kind of logic is this? If you accept that the original schedule was bad planning by OGN, and that changing the schedule was a good decision by OGN - then wouldn't the move that prompted this change of decision be a good decision too?

Plus I like that SKT is willing to stick its neck out to get a reasonable practice time for its players to show top games (and of course for the team to perform well during the playoffs).

:D I don't care about the politics. This is great news for me because don't have to go tomorrow now. More preparation time FTW.

I really think the important thing is that all 16 players will be at the ceremony and not how SKT messed with the OGN. It really does work out for everyone and SPL > Ro16 Ceremony.

Glad this decision pulled thru. I can't believe all these bashing comments from netizens and TLers who were against such actions of SKT1 players. Seriously, ignorance is a bliss.

I assure you, if this happens to some other team, I'll join the bandwagon to bash at that team too just because you ignorant people bashed at T1 to knock some sense out of ya.

Bisu/Fantasy/Hyuk don't have enough time to prepare. Let's give them another additional week and if they still don't feel ready, we can give them more time. No problemo.

SKT1 already said that they would agree to whatever groups OGN put them in. Should have left it at that. I understand and sympathize for reasoning behind the move but schedules are always tight in SC for top players.

How is this fair for everyone lol. OGN just bent over and let SKT manhandle them imo. Bad move, should've DQ'ed

How is it a bad move when it's clear their schedule was retarded? Maps are revealed 2 days before playoff, and they have to spend a day doing this shit instead of practicing/preparing sniping builds.

Now it just looks like SKT can do whatever they want and everyone bends around them. They shouldn't have changed the dates.

OGN "bend around them" because they have an all-important playoff match on Saturday, for which they had very short notice on the map order. They decided not to send their players, and OGN changed the date for the best of all parties involved. For me that's the best possible solution, both for the teams and for the fans.

Still....

CJ WMF MBC did not have 3 qualifying players for OSL.

CJ have Effort and Hydra. WMF + MBC have Sea and Pure so if you add them all up it's four all-together.

CJ has Movie, Skyhigh, Iris, and Snow in their lineups. Wemade has Baby, Shine, Roro, Mind, and Midas. MBC has Light, Hyun, Pusan, Saint, and Tyson. All these guys can snipe shit up, and they dont have group selections.

SKT has 3 players, all of them could be targets for sniping, Best, who could also be a target for sniping, and 3 lolzergs.

And you want them to skip a day (out of the available 2) to do this?

Great decision by OGN. This will be beneficial for all teams that have to play SPL playoffs R1.
However, I must say that it feels like SKT extorted them to do so...

Wasn't it kind of a bit much to expect players to take time out of their practice schedule for it anyway?

Seems like this decision benefits everyone...

Good decision. It's not like the venue is rented. I am sure OGN doesn't lose any money due to this.

The lack of Bisu and Fantasy (and Hyuk) would make people sad.

I don't get why people are bitching. It fits everyone, CJ and SKT players will get to practice on the new maps and everyone will be at the group ceremony.

Possibly, I'll see how we do for time. I'm more likely to do photoshoots if they dress up, but since OGN has been boring c*nts for the last two seasons videos are way more likely. I'll try and do as many people who haven't been done as possible.

So now it's on a Wednesday... ok. there's a playoff match the following day. So... will SKT skip again if they win?

No, because if SKT wins, they won the instant card road to Grand Finals. Seriously, who else can potentially stop SKT if they win? FOX? MBC? STX? I'll say KT has best shot but not a lot...

I don't see the problem. SKT1 wants to win the championship. They want more practice. They will now go to the ceremony, and they will get their practice.

They've played a year straight to get to the playoffs and have a chance to repeat as champions.
