KT Rolster Wins the Shinhan Bank Proleague 09~10 regular season.
On 28th, 6PM KST, KT Rolster won 3:1 against Woongjin Stars at Yongsan e-Sports Stadium (OGN) during Shinhan Bank Proleague 09~10 5th Round, 5th week 3rd match.
Before the match, KT Rolster had 34 Wins, 16 Loss with 43 point difference, holding onto the magic number '1'. After winning against Woongjin Stars, their record changed to 35 Wins, 16 Losses with 45 point difference, clutching them with the title 'Champion' even with the 4 games that they have to play later during the season. KT Rolster also won the ticket to the Pusan Gwang-Ahn-Ri Beach Special Stage for the Shinhan Bank Proleague 09-10 Finals on August 7th.
KT Rolster played amazingly well during Round 1 with 10 Wins and 1 Loss. After grabbing the first place during Round 1, KT never dropped down from the No. 1 position. KT Rolster also took home the title from Winnersleague 09~10, forshadowing their regular season title.
However, KT Rolster also had their dangerous moments. With 6 Wins and 5 Losses during Round 4, STX SOUL caught up to KT with 9 Wins and 2 Losses, leaving STX only 3 games behind KT. Things started to get worse when KT went 1 Win 5 Losses during first 6 games of Round 5, almost giving up their Number 1 spot to STX. However, STX SOUL started to slump along with KT, going 1 Win and 6 Losses, including 5 game losing streak. This gave KT Rolster a chance to step up and lower the magic number required for them to secure the title, going one step closer every single game.
For first time in 5 years, and second time in KT's history, KT Rolster took home the Regular Season Champion trophy with their victory in Proleague 09~10 Regular Season. Back in 2005, during the KTF MagicNs era, KTF took home their first regular season title with 10 game winning streak during Round 1 of Sky Proleague 2005.
After their victory over Woongjin Stars and clutching the title, KT Rolster received 50000000 South Korean won (41567.9500 US dollars) and the Winner's Trophy.
+ Show Spoiler +From fomos.co.kr: KT
Winners of KT Rolster vs Woongjin Stars
Tempest: I was glad that I contributed to our team's victory![[image loading]](http://www.fomos.kr/board/interview/1277726825_1.jpg)
- You won today with a nice performance ▲ I'm just happy that I was able to contribute to our team's victory in Proleague.
- Your strategy was very good. ▲ While I was analyzing the VOD's, the strategy came up into my mind. After thinking to myself that the build was going to work 100% and optimizing the strategy, I had a good feeling about it. When I told the coaches about it, they told me to use for the sake of Gwang-Ahn-Ri.
- Are you ready to come up with interesting and amazing strategies for Gwang-Ahn-Ri, just like today? ▲ I'm always trying my best, so I think I'll have good strategies again by the time when Proleague Finals arrive.
- Aren't you jealous of Violet and Stats? Recently, they have been doing well. ▲ I've never thought of it that way. I think the problem is within myself. Since I've been living together with Violet and Stats for few years now, I want to see the light (as in, victory, or doing well) with them. Also, I think my performance improved due to the fact that Violet and Stats have been doing well.
- Comparing yourself to Violet and Stats, what do you lack or need improvement on? ▲ I think I'm lacking stability. And also, I think I lost trust and faith from the coaches when I made mistakes in the past games, where I had many chances to go out and play for the team. Back in the days, I wasn't able to recover from it. However, with enough practice and fidelity between coaches and myself, I think I earned their trust again. Right now, I'm confident to say that I'm the hardest worker in the team.
- How are you going to prepare for the Finals? ▲ Overall strategy and performance will be up to the Coaches to figure out. I'll try to do my best to support my team in any method possible.
- Which team do you want to fact at the Finals? ▲ I think facing SKTelecom would be the best choice for gathering attention. If we win against our telecommunications rival at the finals, it would be the best victory that KT will ever have. Personally, I want our team to win at Gwang-Ahn-Ri with SKT as the sacrifice.
- Final words? ▲ I am thankful for everything, especially the coaching staff who always work hard, my teammates, and the fans who always cheer for me and my team.
Stats: We finally did it![[image loading]](http://www.fomos.kr/board/interview/1277726853_1.jpg)
- Your thoughts on winning today? ▲ I'm really happy that out team finally did it. I want to congratulate and thank my teammates, who worked hard for this.
- Your recent performances are amazing. ▲ Rather than good performances from myself, the great performances and games from my teammates were the bigger factors. I started improving as our team started winning. It seems like I responded to my team's expectations, so I am very happy.
- Due to Flash's recent slump, it seems like there's more weight on your shoulders now... ▲ Flash always practices very well so I think he will step up and get his pace back pretty soon. I also practiced very hard, thinking that adding my recent performances to the team will help our team win.
- Did you expect ZerO to come out? ▲ I expected him to come out. However, even with the expectation, ZerO's near-perfect control mixing up with my mistakes, such as losing the Corsair, made the game harder than I originally planned. Luckily, I won the game so I'm happy.
- Now you can play the final 4 games without any pressure. ▲ I will try my best to reach my goal, which was winning 20 games this year.
- Who do you want to face in the Finals? ▲ I really haven't thought about it, so I don't know. Personally I don't care who we face.
- Any final words? ▲ I want to thank Coach H.O.T-Forever for helping my PvZ from the side and all the teammates who helped me out for today's game. I also want to tell Flash that he did well (in order to comfort him), despite his loss today.

Congrats to them.
But I feel like at the rate they're going they're not going to win the finals.
Though I guess they did beat woojin pretty handily.
|
well, they could beat woongjin even with flash failing, so they arent completely helpless. on the other hand, chances are high for the grand final to go to the super ace, where they really got a problem if their only legitimate ace-player flash continues his ace match slump.
now i wonder which team will be facing kt. my bet is skt, but wemade and cj look strong aswell. anyways, gratz to kt rolster for a formidable proleague season.
|
Anyone has link to the video of the ceremony?
|
|
I'm hoping wemade wins the finals. Their team has great depth and it would be nice to see Nada win another big title.
|
woot woot KTF represent!!
|
Flash, ForGG, Stats, Violet, Tempest, Hoejja with a possible Flash again for ace is a pretty solid lineup. It'll all come down to matchups I suppose, but they're not the most matchup dependent team out there. Either way it should be exciting, but I wouldn't give than more than a 50% chance to win realistically unless Hoejja has managed to dramatically improved his game.
|
If KT had a good Zerg, maybe... At this rate (KT has been doing really badly lately.. mostly due to Flash ace-match failing), KT will probably lose in the finals.
|
This poll is a bit misleading... All the non-KT supporters will vote 'No' as they think their team will beat KT! The poll results will be a whole lot different when KT's opponent has been decided.
|
Yeah, it all comes down to matchups just like Trap says. Violet and Stats have been playing really solid lately.. Flash's aces have been questionable lately, but as a KT fan, I have faith :0 And man... Hoejja man, i love you and your zvp, but pleaseeee improve your vT and vZ... But yeah, unless Hoejja shakes off his inconsistent plays, looks like it'll be up to Flash violet and stats. (maybe Tempest) KT HWAITING!!!
|
Congratulations, KT
But unfortunately SKT will rape you hardcore. The only reason that you are where you are is because Bisu slumped. That, of course, has been swiftly amended.
Thanks for the translation. Tempest is a nice guy. I hope he will provide us with some entertaining strategy for the PL final.
|
KT vs SKT finals. This is the absolute best thing I could hope for. last year's shitty oz/skt match with jaedong getting raped 0-3 was funny, but i think everyone saw an skt victory that time.
KINGS OF PROLEAGUE ARE BACK!

KINGS OF PROLEAGUE ARE BACK! Yeah, that was pretty bad. Oz was lucky to get to an ace match at all. Most people expected 4-1 SKT for both sets, lol.
I want to see CJ vs KT though. CJ has a killer lineup for this format.

damnit STX, we were so close

lol 2005 - Nal_rA with like 9 consecutive ace match wins. Sick season.
|
wow so much negativity for the pl finals.. there is still some time to go.. maybe because as of late KTFlash has been only KT as flash is in a recent loss in aces..
|
Lol, fan bases are strong as hell aren't they. Love to see SKT vs KT
|
Theyr'e not going to win, the way they're currently playing. Not even close.
|
Im gonna pick KT to win this because even without Flash they are still a very deep team. ForGG, Stats, Violet, Tempest, Hoejja. Every team's ace seems to be slumping lately so it just depends on how the rest of the team is performing. Overall I think KT has the best performing team at the moment. All their loses lately have been Flash's fault therefore even without him I think they can still do it depending on the team who gets to the finals.
|
I hope Flash start to comeback. His recent performance is definitely a slump..
I missed his interview >.< . Ah, I should go pray for him, that is the least I could do.
|
Flash carried them through rounds 1-4, if he doesn't stop his slumping, I can't see KT winning the finals.
|
I don't think KT can go all the way. They are a pretty decent bo5 team but in bo7, with Flash not in super god mode, I find it highly unlikely they will win. I think a deeper team like SKT1 (their zergs are okay now) or WeMade ( and maybe CJ if they qualify) have the best chance.
|
Thanks for the translation! Keep up the good work :D if only SC was huge in france or quebec I'd be able to help

H.O.T-Forever became a coach? I never knew that, interesting.

$40,000 just for being first in the regular season? wtf?

Well grats to KT for the automatic trip to the finals. KT isn't looking completely terrible either (unlike a certain other 2nd place team) - Stats/ForGG have been looking decent lately, KT's other tosses may win on a good day, and Flash should get rid of his anti-clutch disease. Not going to put my money on them though if SKT/Fox/CJ gets to the finals.
As usual thanks for the translation!
|
If i recall correctly skt was sitting at 4th the previous season and Oz sitting at the top, when they got face stomped by fantasy's charge. Be interesting to see how Flash's team holds up against it.
|
KT suffered a lot with the loss of Luxury... If he was still on the team, I would give KT a very high percentage of winning it all, but without any decent zergs.. Hoejja can only ZvP, 815 can only play on Blue Storm, and FIrefist is just bad. Don't forgot that the main reason KT got 10-1 during round one was a combination of Flash, Luxury and Violet tearing everything up.
In my opinion, Flash's recent TvT Ace match slump would be a good caution for Flash, and SKT probably has the best chance taking out KT, but I would rather FOX make it to the finals. Nada deserves it. He was once the KTFlash for Pantech.
|
Someone said for fun few months ago about Bisu that he would end his slump, lead SKT to playoffs finals, and win the super ace match against Flash and that it would look like a perfect manga scenario. It doesn't sound that impossible now.
|
Nice. Be interesting lineups next few games.
I wanna see SKT win the finals though with Bisu stomping everyone :D
Edit: lol at post above. what timing. wasnt me though..
|
Since KT already won, I hope that hoejja will receive more play time now, so he can either boost up his confidence for the finals or he proves completely useless and won't play at all.
Actually will the finals be like rounds 4 and 5 or like rounds 1 and 2? (the line ups?)

If you mean that they will be announced shortly before the game or a week/few days before i think it'll be the former, to combat the betting sites.

Would have been nice, since its 2 out of 3 - first match to be with line ups announced several days in advance then the next one announced shortly before the games and if 3rd match is required it may be winners stay format

Stats expected ZerO to come out. His opponent? Zerg. So it's natural that a zerg coach helped him out on the side to exploit Stats's build.
Remember: If you're Protoss in PvZ, you really don't know what's annoying for Zerg unless you hear it from Zerg player himself. You also really don't know your flaw (in most cases) unless they tell you what you did wrong.

skt destroyed oz. it wasn't even close. oz managed to get to the ace match on day 1, but won only a single set on day 2.
later, skt rolled oz in the stx masters with s2 taking 2 sets and ssak taking 3, and then beat stx with a hyuk all-kill.

KT really needs to pick up their game if they want to have a chance in the playoffs.

Actually the first day ended in 4-0 for SKT. The second day went to ace (after that intense Lomo vs Best game), in which Jaedong lost to Fantasy

Coz OZ needs time to practice for next Season!!!
At least now JD can focus solely on the individual leagues.

I'm pretty upset about Oz missing out on the playoffs.
I dreamed last night that Jaedong got knocked out of MSL and OSL in the same day. What a nightmare.

Time to go buy Violet another cake I guess :D I might go report the finals this year. I'm still kicking myself for not going to OZ/T1, but a Busan finals costs me about $200-300 to cover for TL.
