remember when jaedong lost to flash because he didn't get dark swarm despite having defiler mound for a good 5 minutes? It was the start of winners league i believe...looks suspicious now right?

if you mean Jaedong getting paid to drop some games, then yes.
Forgetting upg can be common, like Savior's adrenal gland...

otherwise wtf are you talking about. Their skills are top notch.

It's been addressed somewhere in one of these threads (and by Rekrul, I believe) that games with close odds aren't usually the ones being scammed because there's not much money in it.

i remember rek saying the real young players nto in this. wouldn't doubt it

edit: also found it funny amount of people who called bullshit on rek esp. right when waxangel made a blog similar. just shows that gambling and shit everywhere

Besides, if you are going to fix a match, better not take a big one that will receive alot of attention. Better just to lose some random proleague match to a decent (but underdog) player. Especially towards the end of the season when alot of the sets don't matter that much for overall league standings. Very easy to get away undetected then.

I think it's kinda silly how people here bring up specific games (especially the bisu/savior final). If this really happened and these guys are good at what they do (and they probably are given how long they got away with it) then most of the matches that were fixed have long been forgotten as they were just not that memorable

its really obvious he meant consume, guys

But anyway, I agree that betting on JD vs. Flash would be a pretty dumb thing to fix considering there wouldn't be very good odds at all.

i've always suspected that match-rigging is going on in korean pro-gaming scene, but i'm still surprised at the scale of this shit and the list of suspected players are disheartening...

if you lose on purpose such a game is the best chance to make fucking much money. all savior had to do was to put all his money on bisu and lose and win like 10* more money. at that time bisu was a noname and savior a god. its like barcelona playing against some 3rd league team.

How could you even bet on that game anyway, it was the ace match of a winners league series, no line-up was announced = no way to bet...

Wait, it's illegal in Korea to release criminal names... So how are we going to know who was actually doing this? Do we just wait around for months waiting for the players to be reported as "on indefinite leave due to illness" or "retiring" or whatever? Are we doomed to speculate till the end?

No, because he will probably be blacklisted from proleague for this
