Nal_ra defeating Flash was big news and I got spoiled easily. Didn't believe Nal_ra accomplished that through skill though, till I actually watched the show. That was some goddamn good dragoon and reaver micro. I'd totally believe it if somebody said it was Bisu playing. Can't wait for the next episode! And yeah, I think that I actually am enjoying this show slightly more than Hyungjun. But Hyungjun show would appeal to the general audience as opposed to this show's target which is a very specific audience.

I thought that was brilliant - here's Kang Min, 28 years old, scratching his head about which way is "up" on a scouring sponge, lol! His mom cooks for him and brings him food so he doesn't starve... poor guy. "What to do first? Clear the table, or wash the dishes....hrmmm" In a way it was funny to see, but in another it kind of shows how hardcore you have to be to be a progamer - everything gets sacrificed. Almost 30 years old and he has nearly zero basic life skills - every usable hour of his life since Starcraft has existed has been devoted to the game. Insightful, intriguing, entertaining... I thought it was great.

I was surprised about nal_ra's general cluelessness of everyday living. However, as jgad says, if you consider that most of his adult live has been spent practicing SC then it makes sense. I think the translators are doing a great job capturing the humor. Yellow, Kingdom and the KT coach are hilarious. Huge thanks to the translators, I've done some transcription work and can imagine the work involved. Nal_ra's conversation with Boxer was poignant. Previously I had assumed he was resigned to act in a supporting role for this team and had given up ambitions to recapture past glory. Obviously that's not so (at least for the individual leagues) and he really does aspire to win another championship. I've been an SC fan for a long time but that's impressive dedication. I could go on but let me just say this show is amazing in many ways. Again, a huge thanks to the translation team.

The first episode where they show his go.go replay to current progamers was genius. It prevented them from sucking up (assuming they were not acting) and really setup the rest of the series. I know all about "reality tv" but nal_ra's embarrassment while watching their comments was visceral. I was surprised about nal_ra's general cluelessness of everyday living. I'm not sure about Korea but in many Asian countries many adults live with their parents till they are much older than in the West which could add to this difference.
