Greetings everybody.
After having searched for a while after an editor for the Mac, I had pretty much given up after realizing that StarFire Edit wouldn't work since it required a Carbonized version of StarEdit, which just doesn't exist.
However, thanks to Darwine, I recently made a discovery. I thought to myself: "What if I try to run the PC version of StarEdit via Darwine?".
I tried it and the result was a very, very laggy StarEdit that, although worked, lagged too much to be used.
When that failed I tried to run SCMDraft 2.0 in a similar way. It crashed at first but I then figured out how to get it to work.
So, how does one get SCMDraft to work on the Mac? That is what I am going to try and explain here.
Step 1
Download and install Darwine from this link.
Now, I will take no responsibility for if Darwine crashes your computer or something like that. Use it on your own risk, ok?
Also, if you don't have X11, you have to download that first. I can't remember where I downloaded my version of X11, but I am sure that you can find it if you use Google. Apple have a version of it on their homepage. Link
Step 2
Get a PC version of StarCraft on your Mac.
This is pretty easy. Install StarCraft on a friend's PC and copy the installed files onto a USB or burn it to a CD or something. Move those files to your Mac and store in a location of your choice.
I called the folder "StarCraft Folder (PC)", but the name really doesn't matter.
Step 3
Download SCMDraft. (I think that this is the correct page to download it from, but I can be wrong so download at your own risk, and so on.)
Step 4
Once you have downloaded SCMDraft, run it. Two programs will start. One will be called X11 and one will be called WineHelper. If this doesn't happen or if things don't seem to work, you probably haven't downloaded X11.
Now, you will be greeted by a screen that looks like this:
![[image loading]](http://i731.photobucket.com/albums/ww316/Slugbreath/scmdraft/selectprofile.jpg)
If you want you can add a new profile by writing the name you wish your profile to have in the box to the left of the "Add" button and then press said "Add" button. If not, the Default works good too.
Select the profile you want to use and press the "Edit" button. This screen will appear:

Now the only thing you will need to bother about here in order to make this work is the "Starcraft Path" box. Click on the Browse button and find the folder where you placed the PC version of StarCraft in step 2. Find that folder and then click Save Settings.
You will then be taken back to the select profile window. Click "OK" and SCMDraft will launch.
Step 5
Edit maps and post them on Teamliquid! But that is a completely different story.
