Korean Air Starleague Prelims: Choose the games you want to watch!
For the first time in esports history, Ongamenet is introducing the 'Multi Live System.' The system is being used for the first time this coming Friday (the 5th in Korea), for the beginning of the highly anticipated Korean Air Starleague 2010. The system allows for fans to be able to watch different games online, in addition to the games being broadcasted for the TV.
The Korean Air Starleague 2010 preliminaries begin this coming Friday, starting at 10 AM at the the Yongsang eSports Support Arena, and will be covered on the game channel Ongamenet from 2 PM to 3.
During past preliminaries, the broadcasters could only choose one game to air on TV while countless games were being played simultaneously. However, with the new 'Multi Live System,' eSports fans can, in addition to watching the game being broadcasted and commentated on air on TV, choose and watch other games occuring at the same time. Thanks to this, fans can now watch more games than ever before. This online broadcast will begin 12 PM on www.ongamenet.com , and will be accessible by pressing the 'Live TV' button.
BoxeR, NaDa, sAviOr, July, Reach, and YellOw are among the players that have entered these preliminaries from the 12 progamer teams, and the preliminaries are expected to be the place for many grueling battles. Players currently doing well in the Proleague including Bisu (SK Telecom), Best (SK Telecom), JangBi (Samsung), Kal (STX), Violet (KT), Really (eSTRO), Leta (hite), RuBy (Airforce), Sea (MBC), sKyHigh (CJ), and more are expected to participate as well.
How the 'old gamers' will fare is of great interest. Past Starleague winners BoxeR (SKT), NaDa (Wemade), sAviOr (CJ), July (STX), and Reach (Airforce), as well as players who have been unable to qualify for the Starleague in a long time such as YellOw (Airforce), Iris (CJ), Casy (Airforce), Anytime (Airforce), XellOs (Airforce), and ClouD (Airforce), as well as the only female active progamer ToSsGirL (STX) are all potentials for qualifying for the Starleague, and are gathering attention.
In particular, last season (ed note: last preliminaries?) BoxeR made it to the ro4 and YellOw made it to the finals, further raising the hopes that they may qualify for the main event. Also Bisu, who had been part of the main event for 8 consecutive Starleagues since the 2007 Starleague until being eliminated for the First time recently, is another player receiving attention.
New players are garnering anticipation, as well. Last season's runner up, Movie, was a player who began in the preliminaries and made it all the way to the finals. This season, more new and energetic players such as Violet are expected to make a strong showing in the preliminaries.
The preliminaries consist of 169 players split up into 24 groups. Games are bo3s, and the winner of each group is seeded into the ro36. Maps include Match Point, Eye of the Storm, and Fighting Spirit, which are all considered balanced maps.
This sounds great - do we have any idea exactly how many matches at a time will be viewable? Like will there be 4 matches live at all times or something?

but since i can't understand korean, i think i still prefer the mbc commentators. it's all just oooohh's and ahh's to me anyways.
Omg yes!!!!!! I can't wait for this baby to start!!! I CAN CHOOSE WHAT I WANNA WATCH!!! WOOT! NO MORE SOME RANDOM IRON, PRINCESS OR ANY OF THOSE PROGAMERS!!
Why cant OGN just take over MBC and run two Starleagues? They are like a bagillion times smarter than MBC and do everything right as opposed to MBC who is trying hard not to do a single thing right.
Why would foreign ID'a be banned? I watched a lot if the OSL games on OGN.com. They evesoakow you to make an over-seas account. And the streaming is great, when it doesn't lag. But I doubt so many people will watch 1 of the streams so there shouldn't be lag.
Why is Power Outage Zerg? It should be Toss since that's clearly the only race that can beat Flash.
Also, does the OGN site have an English version? Or could it be possible for any really cool Korean speakers to translate/ just tell us which buttons to push? If so, i'll donate a bottle of kimchi!

Yeah on the one hand the OGN team is generally funnier (mostly due to fan signs asking for more Nal Ra games vs his fellow commentators) and Kim Carrier, but I really like the main MBC commentator's voice. Since you listen to commentators rather than watch them this is a big part of the enjoyment factor.
Kind of a hypothetical situation, but some people would prefer to watch games with English commentary by Klazart to artosis despite the disparity in game knowledge simply because of the sound / entertainment value. My personal preference is Day[9] for his knowledge and humor along with an agreeable voice, but to each his own.

Why not get tasteless and lil susie in there? they both used to cast for GOM, and they're pretty funny together. plus, we gotta get more female commentators in there, and susie can do the post game interviews and translate them to English! not bad...
Now we need a comittee of streamers who will each choose a stream and Record them for vods so we don't miss out on anygames if we choose to watch one live and not the other :3

I think more Korean fans would be interested in Tossgirl than Idra. As much as we are interested in him I dont think that'd translate at all to the fan-base in Korea...
