He started training with MBC on 23rd January, episode 6 was recorded between 22nd-27th Feb. His progress is pretty good considering he has a full-time job. The true test will be shown in episode 9... + Show Spoiler + He'll compete in an informal tournament with the rest of the MBC trainees. They're filming this on 17th March. If he beats 2 out of 3 of them, he'll get one of MBC's licenses. He won't have to compete in May's Courage.

Episode 6 on youtube! Hyungjoon seems to be most confident in zvz for sure. He seems capable against protoss but I'm not sure he knows what he's doing against terran. I think his style is comparable to Hyuk. Shark is a good teacher, but the pressure was too high... Hyung even killed one of his own zerglings. He should take care to keep the stress low next time. It is a good show in that they show the anxieties that are part of any high level sport training. It is really hard to keep on going when the tide is against you and you fail your own expectations. And when the trainer starts to criticize, it's easy to lose all confidence. Still, I think coach Ha is doing what is necessary. Even though Hyungjoon works hard and has a positive attitude, he is still treating it more like a vacation rather than serious training. It's ok to be cheerful, but you've got to prove yourself first. Saint's suggestion to start practicing immidiately upon arrival was a good one. Nothing gets on a trainer's good side than working hard when it is expected, and you'll be amazed how fast he'll loosen up. Hyung made a mistake in starting to chitchat with the coach, and he got a "shouldn't you be practicing by now?" as his reward... Given that, Hyungjoon really impresses me. His energy when playing starcraft is ruthless, he really wants to win. He also has personality. I mean, there are so many invisible players in any sport, and they won't ever become a threat to their opponents. iloveoov, Savior, Julyzerg, Flash and Jaedong, Stork when he's on a roll, these are players that can win a match even before it started. When they enter the booth, they take control. Hyung has, in potential, some of that power as well, and it is something you'll find lacking in, for example, Shark. But like coach Ha said, he'll have to prove himself trustworthy. A progamer plays to win tournaments, individually or with his team. You'll need to find a role within that framework, otherwise you might as well quit immediately. I'm not sure if Hyung can become good enough to get on the proleague roster, but he should be able to reach the dream league roster. Then it's up to him whether he's got the goods to get out of the preliminaries of the star leagues. But for now, I hope we'll be seeing him taking courage in may. If he's serious all the way through, he might just win it.

I think he's pretty dedicated considering his day job. Hyungjun's a proud person. The one thing he hates (besides being confused with the leader of SS501, Kim Hyun Joong. Hence the joke by Sea in ep. 6) is being called a failure. He's trying his best to get that license.
