JD seriously sounds like someone who has achieved what he wanted and isn't "afraid" to lose anymore. Jaedong will decline in 2010 imo. He's sounding more and more burned out in his interviews. His skill has begun to waver and his win % is already slipping. I don't want him to do poorly, but you have to consider that he's won two OSLs back to back and has been at the peak of the game for a long time. What else is left to accomplish except more medals than nada? I think he'll continue to play, just like all the old greats who try to retain the feeling of dominance despite not being hungry enough to practice as hard anymore, but he'll get outshined by the new school -- effort, in particular. flashtards, not cool
He didn't say anything about Flash in that quote. You have a serious persecution complex.

Maybe something was lost in translation, but that sounded an awful lot like "Please don't try very hard in the next two games". I'm sure it's just a joke though, BeSt is perfectly capable of beating Canata straight-up...

Much thanks for the translation, can't wait for the Flash vs Jd match, since they both seem to be in amazing shape.
I love how friendly Best is with Canata: "I'll buy you lots of good food if I win" lol

Yeah, Jaedong continues to play amazingly well. The biggest difference between his gameplay now and a year ago is that other players have advanced more than he has because of how far ahead he was.

According to TLPD, Jaedong's 2009 winrate is 116-50 (69.9%) right now, but that's because we include GOM and WCG. Take those out and Jaedong is 101-39, which is over a 72% winrate for the year. This is the best Jaedong's ever done by Kespa standards.
Compared to his 2008 TLPD score of 87-38(69.6%), which is actually much better than his 2008 Kespa run, again excluding Gom and WCG, which is 69-35(66.3%).
If you want to include GSI (which I would, personally, but that's a lil Flash bias shining through!) to TLPD he's 91-40 at 69.5% (Small difference!)
His 2007 TLPD is 57-31(64.8%), with a Kespa winrate at 57-29(66%) -- the only change being the 2-0 loss to July at WCG.
So yeah, 2009 SO FAR has been his best year ever. That could change, though, depending on the games vs Flash and Firefist and, of course, proleague. At the very least he's shattered his games won.
Whoever said Jaedong is fizzling has no idea what they're talking about. He's done nothing but get better every year.

100 wins seems pretty easy when you advance so damn deep in 3 tournaments (well idk if they counted gom)
god jd why you so damn good

But integral, the guy who made the "The Dong will burn out in 2010" comment, doesn't have a team tag...

Even though I'm a Jaedong fan, this is a very very close game, with Flash being ahead slightly.
I've always always said Flash needs to drop that mechanical crap and stick to bread and butter 1 rax FE M+M. Even Jaedong has had problems with it in the past.
Now that Flash has reverted back to his textbook winning methods, I fear for Jaedong.
Flash is now the unstoppable object colliding with an immovable Jaedong. This is epic.

I respect Jaedong and I can tell he works really hard, but I really would like to see someone else take the title for a change. It seems like it's been forever since a Terran won an individual league aside from GOM. Though anything would satisfy me as long as we don't see all ZvZ semifinals or even a ZvZ final again.

It really feels like every Protoss player who has an important match asks advice from Jaehoon or practices with him. He's thanked in interviews so often.
Edit: Oh, and thanks for translating mrmin!
