It was raining outside. A rare occurense considering where I live. My cousin who lives in US had just called me on skype and was rambling as usual. Then he started talking about this year's mvp in football. The boundaries were crossed. My mind was clouded. This was not acceptable anymore, action had to be taken and I would do anything to see my plan through.
So, what do you think? He asked me in hope I'd approve of his choise. I grinned and stoically said, You know what? I think Messi will take this year's award as well. Silence, -Isn't that this short soccer guy? -NO HE IS A FOOTBALLER FOR FUCKS SAKE!, I burst out in anger while cancelling the call.

It will always be Football and Soccer in America. It's too engrained in society to change that now. Perhaps when you come up with a time machine you can go back in time to when they were coming up with names and put in HandEgg.

This is more about fringe sports vs mainstream sports. American Football is, basically everywhere except the US, a fringe sport with like 0 importance to people that are not playing it themselves.

Re:Football v Handegg v Soccer, I think mdb had the right say: It's a different language. And while futbol (to distinguish the two ) may be more popular in most of the world, Football is more popular in the US - so, inside the US, why should it matter that we call it Football?
