EPTBy request the download is higher quality than previous ones have been. Mixcloud is still stuck on the 100mb limit sadly but I encoded the download version with high quality (260?) vbr. Why vbr and not just full-on 320? Well... a huge part of my collection was bought from emusic 2003-2008. All that stuff is 192 vbr so doing the files at 320 is kinda silly. I could re-find it all at 320, but there are always more mixcloud listeners than downloaders anyways and all those people are listening at 160 until mixcloud ups their limit. Also, laziness. I honestly have trouble hearing the difference but I know it matters to some people. I may go through and update all the old ones anyways though since it finally occurred to me I should have been embedding artwork all along and the fact that I didn't is now tickling the back of my brain in an OCDish manner.
As far as the mix itself goes, this week is a collection of darkish songs. Not trying-to-fill-you-with-dread Lustmord style ambient, more like you're in a factory, the power went out and the machines are still clanging around in a rhythmic manner. As usual a mix of old and new tracks - if you're not familiar with the artists try to guess which one is from 1982! Unlike most of my other mixes this one is doesn't really have any sort of progression to it, it maintains a constant atmosphere and the song order was driven purely by which transitions were best. You can loop it and pretty much start whenever.
