Things to expect: SC2 fanfic comic. Reworkings of comics I made/sold back when I was in highschool. Fanart/Pin-ups. Probably-unfunny gag strips. And whatever else my creative impulse drives me toward while the next deadline is looming.
k. Right to it.
Fanaticism #1:
+ Show Spoiler [self-criticism] +
Two things that really bug me with this one:
1- the patterns I put into panel 4 don't work. I should've at least put them in perspective to pretend they were tiles, but I thought to myself, "it'd be a pain in the ass to draw details that small, and with everyone in the subway station vanishing during the 'I'll be the only man on earth' line, maybe they'll work flat." But they really didn't. I kinda tried to fix it by crosshatching the background, but that just made things worse. Oh well. Live, learn.
2- worse than making the above mistake... after scanning the page and loading it into GIMP, I couldn't figure out how to kill the background "white" so I could color the damn thing. I think I'm supposed to "set color to alpha" channel and then I can set that channel as transparent, leaving just the linework so I can color the work. But the "set color to alpha" plug-in was grayed out, and I have no idea to work around that. Until I figure out how to do that (anyone computer literate enough to help?), Fanatacism is gonna be black&white.... which really pisses me off.
I had plans of putting Day[9]Daily posters in the background, and without color the flames on the subway train just don't pop the way they should. Even worse, I didn't spend any time "spotting blacks" because I figured I could add depth with color. Instead it looks like a fricken coloring book, lol.

Sketchbook:
My first marine sketches (I quickly realized that blizzard fudges human proportions a bit lol) and bits and pieces of other stuff.
