Unfortunately, I lived in a flat in Hong Kong, a rather busy city. The clouds were thick, forming a huge blanket over our buildings. I was really envious of people who live in villages, lying on their gardens comfortably and count the meteors (whilst making a wish of course).
To find the programme, I logged onto a programmed called, “Stellarium”. The programme stimulates the sky in real time.

The Constellation art is also shown here, you are free to imagine how ancient people told myths by gazing into the starry night.
I also used this programme to see the eclipse that has happened ~ 3 weeks ago. (I happened to be at hospital at that time, the doctors used some x-ray films and let us observe the partial eclipse)
I think such a tool comes very handy in a city, where the binding lights are gradually eroding our dark sky, what we can usually see are mainly the few planets. With this programme, we can see thousand and thousands of stars (along with their information), perhaps we can rediscover the skylight that we have lost…
PS: IMO, this programme is not that ideal for meteors rain, you have to enable the option of displaying meteors in the configuration menu.
