I had several GI Joe toys, even watched the old GI Joe cartoon series when it came on in the morning while I waited for the Bus, and this was the early 90's. I even had some of the comics.
But with this movie I had hopes, high hopes even, and after seeing it I have to say it. This movie flat out sucked.
The Cobra Mask is just stupid.
Dennis Quaid when he attempts to sound tough or in charge, is pitiful. Almost cheesy.
Also WTF Ripcord and Scarlett romance, Jesus fucking Christ! I realize there are changes needed to making a movie especially when it comes to making G.I. Joe into a film but this was a fucking stupid change. If there is a sequel I hope this is reversed.
You HAD to have expected it to be super cheesy, super campy, and super bad. Most people going to see it are just seeing it cause of the name, the same thing that hollywood counts on for most of their horrible remakes.
yeah I heard this was absolutely atrocious. Like in test audiences Miramax (i think?) was considering scrapping the movie and taking it as a loss roflflf

I knew it would be bad just from the trailer and comparing it to the other trailers that preceded it when I was at the theatre.
Not to mention they use some super advanced weapon to destroy the tower. How about trying a regular bomb? I think that would've worked too. Or maybe a hack saw?
Anyways, of course it's bad. Sommers and Bay make a living off raping things that were once good.
I expected it to be bad, so I wasn't that disappointed. The CGI was really lame in some places, the lore was raped of course and so were some of the characters, some of the acting was horrendous, but in the end I still had fun watching it so I wasn't that ticked off.
I must add that it was still a 1000 times better than Transformers 2, now that was a fucking disaster that was ridiculously bad even compared to my already very very low expectations. That movie just made me wanna punch someone in the troath. -____-
