Recently, I got tired of playing UMS games on battle.net, so I decided to try out Iccup, for the very first time.

Upon entering the server, the first thing that greeted me was the red glare of all the Ds, obviously I was an utter noob, so the server saw it fit to put me in the ranks of cheese experts and aspiring C- players.

For two days I tried convincing my friends to play with me on Iccup, since I was a stranger there, and as said before, an utter noob. In the end, they told me to f**k off.

So I summed up all of my considerable courage (lawl) and tried my first game. '2v2 noobs only andromeda', just so you know, that wasn't the real title of the game, but it was pretty close.

Anyways, embracing the race that has the most to offer for the least of effort, I picked Protoss, as did my partner. Our opponents were a zerg and protoss player.

My partner certainly knew what he was doing, but I did not. Somehow, he took care of the protoss player, while he left the zerg one to me.

Right away, I panicked as memories of Jaedong destroying opponents with his ubberskillz made their way to my head.

Expecting super microed mutas at every corner, my corsair saw an empty base. He had ammased all of his units outside his base. Taking this opportunity to its maximum effect, I rushed to DTs and destroyed his Ovies. When he finally took notice of his base with no more drones, he quit the game, closely followed by his partner. They didn't even say gg, sigh.

After said game was finished, I tried creating one, but chose a 1v1 on destination, pvz. I won once again, by going fast expand. My opponent didn't seem to know what he was doing. But we are all noobs, and we are learning.

I guess what I wanted to share was the fact that I am glad that I took the opportunity to try out Iccup. I watch alot of progames, and I am getting alot more intimate with the build orders, as well as realising their importance.

But, hell, I got a long way to go, I mean, wtf is MOTW, and why is everyone saying go.

Other than that, I am anticipating playing against you, as soon as I level up!

Wow Good Job! When I first got on iccup, i was struggling to stay out of D-. And that was after training by myself, trying to learn build orders and playing against custom AIs from boodwarai.com for quite a while and playing some games in bnet on lost temple.

The first step is always the worst and i'd of found it harder to of started out playing a 2vs2 game, luckily you weren't partnered with someone who knew what he was doing but was BM..

GL on climbing up the ranks that is iCCup.

Hehe, yeah, at D ranks, the skill level varies a lot. There are people that have no clue what they're doing, and there are also people that know what they're doing but kinda suck. Then you'll sometimes run into high ranking people that are just climbing through the D ranks

My advice to you is to embrace your noobness and just play. Let losses just roll off you and you'll have fun and improve quickly.

And yes, playing D games is a crapshoot. There are 20 apm ubernoobs and there are B level koreans working their way up. Not a huge deal, though. It's a confidence booster to absolutely destroy someone, and it's easy for me to accept losses to good players.

Don't play in Korean time, I keep getting my ass whooped! LOL

I usually play at night which means most of TL.net is either posting in forums or playing SC.

Goodluck climbing the ladder ^_^
I don't think I've ever wished my opponent good luck prior to a game. When I play, I play to win. I hope every opponent I ever have is cursed with fucking terrible luck. I hope they're stuck playing underneath a stepladder with a black cat in attendance a

you will also find assholes like me who can and have reached c but are too lazy/busy to play frequently and thus stalk other d players on smurf accounts thrashing them around while giggling in glee.

I'll be seeing you. :D

Heh, thanks for the gls, I just got back and got my ass whooped two times in a zvp, the dude sure knows his fast expand. But yeah, the variety of players at D level is astounding. At one time you are playing a person who is just trying out the game for the first time (it seems) and the next, there is a player who knows his build orders, etc.

But watching fpvods of Lz and ret helped alot, zvp is really a fun match up, even if I lose to storms.

Want to win low level ZvP? Lurk contain into ultras. Most D/D+ protoss just don't know how to break contains.

Hmm, good to know, will try, but I am mostly trying to play by forcing myself to use hotkeys, Fkeys, etc. General multitasking, although it is very low.
