The beginning
Back in the early 2000s, I (ir)regularly played StarCraft on LAN with a few friends. They would come at my place with their laptop, we would set up the IPX protocol on every computer (ahhhh, the good ol' times where configuring the whole network took 1 hour) and then play SC the whole evening/night.
Never played with those ?
So one of those nights in October 2004, two friends and I would lose versus 3 comps *AGAIN* -_-; I was pissed and the next day went on Google looking for some fine strategies and how-tos. That's how I discovered TL almost 5 years ago where I saw people played StarCraft as a national sport in South Korea O_O
I quickly became addicted to this site ; at that time, watching VODs was very difficult : you needed a Korean ID to be able to register to the OGN site and watch the videos live and you had to be a forum veteran to access the download section.
Well, I won't go into details about the 5 years I have spent here. I would only stress how happy I was one year ago when the Blizzard WWI took place in Paris Those who were there can tell how awesome it was.

Time to say goodbye
What with the nostalgia ? Well, since mid-2008, I've been very busy on other matters. I want to completely change my professional life and it takes a bunch of time. I need to study/work a lot out of my regular working hours and it leaves little space for SC and TL. It has already made me stop any development on RepDepot/ReXplorer and stuff. I barely read TL these days, like 3-4 times a week.
The problem is I will need much more time in a month or so. Why ? Because I am going to be a dad in late August This is really cool but I won't be able to do everything I want in my spare time (hell, I already am unable to do that -_-; ). I need to cut some more in my "expendable" activities : it means less time on TL (and less time browsing on the Internet in general), no time to work on SC-related softwares. There's a lot of work coming at me ; it's challenging and I will like it, but I have to make more room in my life.
I will still come here to read a few about what SC is becoming and what are the reactions to SC2 and stuff. But I won't be able to participate as much as I used to, even if I am already on "silent" mode
See you guys and take care ! I seriously hope you all do well in the days to come. Because I know I will

No need to be so sad, I'm sure you'll find more happiness in becoming a dad.
Thanks for all the work you've done. What's the plan with repdepot/Rexplorer now? Will you just hand over the project to other hands?

This is great to hear that you will be a daddy soon but also a big loss on our side, when the time comes and you could not sleep at night you could always come and watch a good VOD with the baby in your arm

Thanks for all the work you've done. What's the plan with repdepot/Rexplorer now? Will you just hand over the project to other hands? I'm not sad, just disappointed that there are too many things to do at the same time, forcing me to have to choose. RepDepot will continue as it is now. People use it and, while there are many features I would have wanted to add, I don't plan on dropping it any time soon. It is just not going to improve, that's all. Maybe one day I'll have time for it again ; we'll see. Same goes for ReXplorer. Plus, I don't think Blizzard is going to spend much time on SC1 now and add/modify things. So ReXplorer is good as it is. I should make the whole source code available, though.
