Well I'm going to start playing Protoss for a while. I've hit C with Terran and Zerg now but don't really feel like playing iccup too much. So I will learn the basics of Protoss playing against a comp and then see where it goes from there.
Thoughts: PvT: Probably going to play the old carrier style late game instead of the recent arbiter trend. Not much interesting play to incorporate here. Maybe play storm heavy into carrier transition? Weird but I'll see how that goes.
PvZ: Incorporate the Dark Archon into my standard play. PvP: I dont know anything about this matchup so I'll think about it later.
I've never been a big fan of Protoss and I barely know builds. Hopefully playing this will help develop my vP matchups. If anyone feels like playing you can msg me here and I'll hop on icc. Protoss skill is like D right now.

Dark Archons are actually quite difficult to use vs decent zergs (for me at least). I wouldn't fuck around with mind control unless you have a massive lead, and maelstorm can often be quite difficult to aim.

Have you hit C and don't know anything about the other races? o.o

PvT: I do not suggest you going Carriers in PvT UNLESS the map allows it. For example, Python is a HORRIBLE map to go Carriers because of the wide open space. Carriers are best used in maps with lots of cliffs and breaks like Destination.
PvZ: Um. I really got nothing to say here. Dark Archon is so underrated so give it a try!
PvP: I used to not do well in PvP. However, this is how I look at it:
Beginning stages of PvP is a build order battle. Once you survive that, it is a macro and harass battle. I suggest you learning a very standard PvP safe build. I have learned Knickknack's 3 gate good build (no reaver) and it really helps.

If you sit C with the two other races, how do you not know a lot about protoss? When you scout, do you not look at their base to determine what the protoss's build order is?
I don't know, everyone's different, I gus

I can recognize protoss builds but I can't recreate the timings. I know simple things like 8pylon 10gate 14core but extending the build into the midgame is somewhat difficult at the moment.
Like in TvP I know my 5fac build order and how to adapt it up to the 100ish supply push but with Protoss it's more like umm.. I'll put down a gateway now. As a Terran I can recognize a 7gate push break but recreating the timings and adapting the different protoss openings into it are what I lack. Being able to recognize a build from your scouting is not the same as knowing how to play it.
Also Carriers on Python aren't too bad if you work away from the center. Hitting the mineral only and the main is super easy while any other possible expo is subject to ground army harass. But ya investing into 4 stargate carriers is bad.

you should try to incorporate DA's into all your matchups just for fun vsT you can use them against Sci Vessels (Feedback) vsP you can snipe HT's in the same fashion Has anyone tried feedbacking defilers or is Maelstrom just overall a better use of your energy? (not sure if this is done or not as I have never used DA's before) I would practice with you (also a D (finally) protoss who doesn't know anything about PvP) but there would probably be too much lag (I'm currently residing in China) so :/ Good luck!

it's going to be hard to hard to incorporate dark archon into your "standard" play pvz. storms/high templars are always take the higher priority. i use them late game occasionally for feedback/maelstrom, or in rare situations where the zerg goes mass muta vs full out reaver/sair. good luck though! gogo protoss

Ive been having some nice success recently in PvT with relatively quick storm drops (like 2 gate goon expo into storm). I find that most mains have a corner you can drop your units off at, walk them up, and take out 1/2 the main scv. Usually if you sacrifice your zealots you can walk your HT back to the shuttle and save them.
That leads to a nice transition into carriers.

PvP:
One gate tech to reaver is the shiznit! (should be in very far spawn points and ramped stages)

Maelstrom can do complete wonders, but as many people have considered it as queens, it is good, but only do it if you have to APM to do it effectively. Personally, I'm suggesting that doing one or two maelstroms in the entire game is not enough. I mean to use them pretty much as consistently as storms, not necessarily as often (due to less DA compared to HT), but if you can, use them. Though a few key maelstroms can really turn the battle around. In contrast though, a few bad maelstroms can give you an army of useless zealots. tl;dr: Maelstrom is great, but it is a waste if you either aren't going to use it, can't use it, or unable to use it effectively.
