On these forums you'll see gamers talking about review scores, sales, graphics, and how awesome certain future titles will be. They talk about many games -- but you will notice not one thread or post about Starcraft 2.
Some of these forums have thought to make a Starcraft 2 sticky on the top of the page, however, these threads get fewer then 1-2 posts a month.
You will always see threads though, that read something like, "What will be the biggest/most important game this gen."
And all of them will say Gears of War 2, the next Halo game, Call of Duty MW2, Assassin's Creed 2, etc...
The only person to mention Starcraft 2 in these threads is me
There is a huge wealth of information and updates on Starcraft 2 and its gameplay, and not one person takes notice or feels it is worthy of discussion.
I mean hey, it's only the sequel to the most successful, perfectly balanced RTS in gaming history -- no big deal.
The one topic I've seen about SC2 recently has been threads that read something like, "Blizzard is a joke...", with a bunch of people responding in agreement as they talk about the decision to remove LAN.
And then it simply becomes one big bash on WoW and WoW's community because WoW must be a terrible game because it's an MMO.
Now I'm sure SC2 is going to blow the world away, and I'm sure it's going to last me years and years. But this new era of consoles has brought with it the most ignorant, young generation of gamers I have ever witnessed. It's all about buying 10 hour games for $60, beating it withing a week, and then onto hyping the next title.
And the few Starcraft fans you do see aren't even aware it's an eSport.
I feel so alone in the real gaming world =/
