I was playing a 2v2 the other day with myself a friend of mine who is about D+ on iccup, and two complete noobs who had only touched the game once.
I picked Zerg, my teamate took zerg as well.
our opponents..? one Protoss and one Zerg [The D+ player].
ok so now we have 2v2.. ZZ v PZ matchup
call me starcraftist.. but i was worried that the protoss noob would have an advantage over my teamate, as protoss is the "easy race"
Lucky enough for me, I had the logic of ZZ teams is not allowed for a reason (in proleague) its imba! of course we're gonna win!
I quickly explained to my teamate how to 5-pool and we went through it once and it went rather good. I told him just do that and we will win.
5,4,3,2,1.. Game starts..
We're sitting next to each other, not to mention allied vision. He builds his 5th drone and it looks as though he's gonna 5 pool. I place my pool as im going for the same build. I get worried when his pool does not appear.. after 10 seconds.. wheres your pool man?
His reply? Oh i got a new strategy so much better than that one man.. I'm gonna get 5 drones.. then wait for 300 minerals and get two hear that? 2 hatcheries! and mass produce those zerg thingies..

I can't even understand this: "I picked Zerg, my friend picked zerg, my teamate Zerg, and my friend team protoss."
WHAT'S NOT TO UNDERSTAND? HE AND HIS TEAMMATE PICKED ZERG (ZZ) AND HIS FRIEND AND OTHER FRIEND PICKED ZERG AND PROTOSS, RESPECTFULLY (ZP)
SO IT WAS ZZ V ZP
lul
It was confusing because he said that he played with one friend. So now I'm assuming the two noobs who only touched the game once are also his friends (which he failed to point out). That's why I was so confused. I thought his friend would be the one on his team. If you think it through with my mindset, everything contradicts with each other.

If they had only touched the game once before, like you said, then you should have been able to beat them both yourself. And I doubt that anyone could even get to D+ and think that a 5-hatch is a good strategy.

His friend was not on his team. A random noob was, according to his story.
One of my most memorable 2v2 games. Me (random terran?) and a random ally protoss. Map - blood bath twilight. I've made standard 9pool and watch my ally. His build was: 7pylon 8pylon 9pylon 10pylon
I suppose he would continue with 11 pylon and 12 pylon but some zergs rushed and killed him..

I guy I used to work with tried to convince me he was better than I am at starcraft. He told me with zerg about 80% of the time he builds a creep colony with one of his first 4 drones.
Needless to say he dodged any attempt at actually playing.
