For some reason, my old copy didn't work this time, though I have been using it for years. So, I went to the daemon homepage and got the latest lite version. I start up the installation and about halfway through it tells me I need to restart my system before I can proceed.
"That's unnerving," I thought.
Since I shut down my system at that time, I have been unable to boot it back up. It freezes when it tries to access the bios. I tried every trick in the book that has saved me before, but this time it seems my bios is well and truly fried.
Getting a new bios or even a new motherboard wont be that much of a stretch, but I'm still pretty annoyed that a piece of software downloaded from what is supposed to be a legit website so thoroughly killed my computer.
