I took a nail clipper and clipped it off, and there was lots of blood and pus. It's now red and swollen. I'm having a hard time typing, so I might only do short translations or not do any at all until my finger is healed. Every time I use it to type, it hurts and it starts bleeding again   | ||

I've heard this is an issue for people who don't trim their nails for a long time...capillaries begin to grow in them...so it becomes troublesome if the nails are freely grown for too long. :X I don't know about your case, though...lol. | ||

Maybe I wasn't clear enough, I meant the sides of the fingernail. And I'm doing the Hwaseung vs KTF translations, it's such a pain (to type). | ||

Its not as bad as it sounds ,but if you leave it and you think it will heal all for itself, its wrong! I had it 2 times in my life, because I cutted my nails wrong.. (I had it at my toe though). The doctor will cut your nail and remove the part of the nail which is in the flesh and it can't happen anymore, never again. -_-; I hope I'm not scaring you, because the surgery isn't bad.. it hurts much more to leave it like it is. | ||

The fingernail grew into the sides and pushed into the skin, I cut it off, and it still hurts | ||

It will grow in the flesh again because you can't cut it properly I guess. (when it already grew into the flesh once that is..) Also, what I ended up doing that helped was letting the nail grow past my toes, that way the corners of the nail is actually beyond the flesh, so it can't become ingrown. Maybe if you don't cut your nails in too much it'd have similar effects? Good luck with that though, hope it stops hurting soon. | ||
