Eli Roth as S/Sgt. Donny Donowitz:[24] A huge and obnoxious "baseball bat-swinging Nazi hunter" who is known as "The Bear Jew" among Nazis.[28] Some of them seem to believe that Donowitz is in fact, a vengeful golem, summoned by an angry rabbi. The role was originally conceived for Adam Sandler, who was in talks with Tarantino before declining due to schedule conflicts with the film Funny People. Roth also directed the film-within-a-film, entitled "Nation's Pride" (Stoltz der Nation) which is a homage to Leni Riefenstahls wartime propaganda flicks. He said that he hopes that the mini-movie will make him become "the Sarah Palin of the Nazi Party."[29]

Well.. I think Eli Roth will be ok for the role of Brad Pit's sidekick. But damn! It would've been so awesome with Adam Sandler as a bat swinging smiling nazikiller... :[

I'm hyped though. Hope it wont disappoint me like Death Proof did. Anyone else with high expectations for this movie?

I dont know the trailer made an impression that it will be a violent action packed war movie. I dont like those- I preffer the ones which show the gruesomnes of war in its meaningless death and atmosphere of desperation. Sort of like platoon and apocalypse now the darker, slow paced movies.

i cant tell much from the trailer, but it seemed to reflect war as more fun than it is.

This. A lot of modern day war movies seem to almost glorify violence. This is why i still love M*A*S*H, because it shows that war isn't as fun as they make it seem.

I'm pretty sure it's not trying to send any pro-war messages, it's just going to be a fun action movie like Kill Bill
It reminds of "The Dirty Dozen" except more violent.

Im looking forward to some funny script dialouges ala Pulp Fiction.

Just because theres no sad violin playing the background or some mother crying her lung out when someone dies doesnt mean the violence in the movie is glorified.

Theres a comedic value in Pulp Fiction in the jokes following when John Travolta shoots a dude by mistake in the face in the backseat of the car. And all the moralfags who dont enjoy it cause doesnt take violence seriously or shows the sad effects it will have in the victims family etc are missing out on alot of fun imo.
