hey TL, can you help me out please?
so, this problem came up about 2 weeks ago. whenever i do something that involves graphics (i think), such as youtube, FFR, altitude, starcraft, one of three things occured
scenario 1: my entire computer just freezes scenario 2: this image pops up (i accidentally deleted a relatively good photo, but it doesn't really matter) (also, it varies in size, depending what i'm doing.) scenario 3 (only pertains to starcraft for some reason): this pops up
in all 3 scenarios, i'm forced to hard shut down, and everytime i do, i have to wait before i start it back up. otherwise, the computer turns on, but it doesn't run anything. not even the start-up routine.
i looked on google, and it suggested i might have a graphics card problem. i doubt it though, cause i had this computer for a while, never touched the parts to the computer, and everything was working fine. but if anyone's interested, my graphics card is a VIA Chrome9 HC IGP.
halp please. i miss my videos and my games (especially SC :[)
i should also mention that if not doing something that involves moving images, then my computer works absolutely fine, no problems. (at least, none that are relevant to this problem)
edit:blah. stupid imageshack. i'll upload the photos on a different site, but in the meantime, use right click->view image to see the photos. fixed

Your pics don't work for me. The computer freezing wchile running graphics intensive applications sounds like your graphics card is overheating. You could install Speedfan and see how hot it gets. As I said, I don't see your pics, but when strange stuff pops up, it's time for a virus scan.

oh shit. i realized why the images weren't loading. i put in the wrong urls. hold up. fixing

maybe that's the problem. people kept saying that my graphics card wasn't working, but they never mentioned that it was due to overheating. that's why i was so skeptical about that suggestion

A quick google tells me that a DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL bluescreen indicates driver problems. Update your graphics card driver and see if that helps.

If you also haven't taken a look at it in a while, you might want to open the case and see how your parts are doing inside. Dust accumulation is usually directly correlated with time, I think...

ok. just updated, had to adjust my screen to 1280 x 1024.
watching youtube now. going to see if it crashes anytime soon.

Hardware problems can cause that one too, I got it pretty often when I had a bad motherboard (such a pain in the ass to diagnose).

lol. it failed in like two minutes
failed=crashed

oh, also, it's not only when i have to hard reset. it's whenever i shut down my computer, i have to wait about a minute or 2 before i can turn my computer back on, even if i set it to restart automatically, nothing responds.

update: ok, so i installed speedfan, and i ran a test by observing speedfan while running a youtube video, and scorch was right on his first assumption. it seems that Temp2 is always above 80+ degrees celsius, and whenever it hits 100+, it crashes. however, does this necessarily mean that it's my graphics card that's overheating?
