[SPL] "Winning is all about mindset. I wanna keep winning and score at least 10 straight wins." -Best
"Monster" Best (T1) pulled off a strong Protoss play and contributed to the team's 8 straight wins.
On May 2, 1:00 p.m. Korean time, at SPL 08-09 R4 4th week 1st match, Best defeated GuemChi on the 1st set.
How do you feel about winning all 5 games at R4 and 8 straight wins?
- This was the first 8 straight wins since I joined the team. I wanna keep winning and score at least 10 straight wins.
This is your 2 straight wins, after the last win against Stork
- Back when I was better 2 straight wins meant nothing. But lately I lost a lot so it means something. I wanna do my best so straight wins mean nothing again.
The game showed your excellence in Protoss
- I realized the opponent had a better build. So I wanna win with huge macro like I used to. So I focus on that part as opposed to control.
When did you know you would wind?
- When I saw the opponent's build. My build was bad in the early game but I knew in the later game I would be at advantage. And I always have confidence, so the opponent's build doesn't concern me that much.
Have you felt bad about yourself lately when Bisu has done better than you have?
- I felt behind because I lost a lot at Winners League. But lately I've been doing good so I don't feel bad.
How's your current condition compared to your prime?
- Not that different. Winning is all about mindset. Before the last win against Stork, I had lost a lot of confidence. But that game restored some. Confidence was the key in today's game. I chatted with Stork yesterday, and he said "Whoever beats me gets better again. You can do it" That was helpful. He lives close, so I should buy him dinner or something.
26 wins this season
- It's still behind compared to the top players. But I'm satisfied to make it into top 10. It's tough to catch up to the top players, but I will do my best so I would be satisfied at the season end.
Your next game is against Horang
- He is doing well against Protoss. He uses a lot of different strategies and that's fearful. But I've played more than he has, so I wanna show the power of experience.
Last words
- I wish the team continues to win and reaches the finals.
