Alright I didn't need to watch them I just looked at the top right hand corner and saw your problem. Your problem is marco and until you solve that it will be hard to really concentrate on other things.

POLO!
Seriously... don't even say things like "I didn't watch but here's your problem". It just makes you sound like an idiot.

It just makes you sound like an idiot. He's right. Improving macro would be one of the biggest improvements he could make. A little bit more smooth on teching aswell. It seems he's not focused on teching, but instead he techs when he has time. All in all, techs are warping in and finishing a bit later than they should, imo.
I think you simple need to think more when you play. If you're going to expand, it should be in the forefront of your mind. Whenever you do anything in SC, it should be your main focus. If you're going to expand, do it as soon as physically possible. If you're going to tech, do it as fast as possible. It seems like you're going through the "routine" instead of adapting to what you see, and instead of optimizing your play.
imo.. edit: I just skimmed the vods. you also seem to be very passive. Like incredibly passive.

Yeah because there exists a context in which having 2.4k minerals while only having 100/200 psi is good macro.
Have you even watched the video yourself? The music makes you feel like you suddenly walked into a gaybar or something.

Maybe he was playing in a gay bar?

Like incredibly passive. That's what I need some help with really. I need to get a good macro cycle going and being able to tech and adapt. I have no higher up mentor or anything who's active enough to answer my questions so I try to get by without any help. Basically I've been trying to just get a solid standard build order down before I start adapting and getting different with it.

critter blocking the third really hurt you just attack it with the probe

Fun to watch, but holy shit that is probably the worst music I have ever heard.

Concerning your teching issues: Day9 has recorded a neat podcast about triggers (i.e. certain events in the game that make you build/research/execute certain things). I suggest you listen to it and find yourself some good triggers for your tech upgrades. On a partly related side note, what's your APM/EAPM?
|
hmm listening to it
My apm and eapm varies. I can get up to 340 apm in games and as low as 240 and eapm is usually 150 I wish It was like 170 but I only get that sometimes

Im just gonna take some notes while watching and organize them when its finished.
First think I noticed was how you had to cancel and rebuild pylon. In early game all the little things add up, so try not to do that. Also I don't know why you added a forge when you saw he hadn't put his pool down yet, if you see that hes going for 12 hatch then that means you can go 14 nexus before forge and still get cannons up in time to stop any lings. Next thing I noticed was you placing 2 cannons before gateway when you were scouting and saw he only had 2 lings. Sure its safe to make 2 cannons but you can afford to make just 1 and then make the other after the gateway. This will help get the core faster and ofc the sair faster. Every second counts, especially in pvz. Also your cannon positioning is kind of bad, I mean its good vs a speedling all-in but if you were facing a 2 hatch hydra cheese you would need them up front.
I quit watching after that because this zerg looks like hes like C- lvl (no offense to you) And it would be hard to explain what to do better because hes not doing anything to punish your mistakes.

"I think you simple need to think more when you play" That about sums it up. I have told him roughly this before though, he has a lack of attention to detail. You have 250apm/150eapm...multitasking is not exactly your biggest problem. If you are doing stuff like forge first when zerg clearly has no pool, this is basic pvz, so you are playing thoughtlessly. The problem is you don't seem to understand that you are playing this way...so i guess that is the first thing to work on.

I actually disagree. I think there is an issue with multitasking. I (imho) believe that some of the moments you choose to pull away and macro are moments which you should not or that if you do you have to do it really fast and get back immediately to whats going on e.g small attack at his expansion at 3 then not paying attention for a good 7-10 seconds. Other than that what knickknack mentioned above is true. There are just things that you do which if you really thought about there is no reason to do e.g. forge when there was no pool. I think you should sit down and think about your play a bit as you watch a replay or vod or something. Try and notice the differences from a pro and yourself. As for mechanics just keep in mind what you want to do before you actually do it. Get things down so that you no longer have to think about them and then you can start reacting to what is actually happening in the game.
