I decided last night that, as of today, after I finish burning these CDs that my dad asked me for about a month ago, that I'm going to be giving up the internet, and pretty much all computer and video game usage for 1 year.
I've led a pretty boring life for the past... who knows how long, coupled with depression, made even worse by the fact that I had to move away from all my friends when I lost my job in this horrible economy. I figured building the ultimate gaming machine would stave off said boredom and depression. It hasn't. In fact, I'm even more bored with life now because I have nothing to aspire to, like building an awesome gaming rig.
I'm planning on still using the internet from someone else's computer for job searching, but that's going to be the extent of that.
And to you, TL, if anyone wants to do me a favour (and get paid!), I'd be grateful. Watching pro-gaming matches is pretty much like watching TV for me. So if anyone wants to make DVDs of pro-matchesfor me and ship them to me (must be US), we can work out some sort of payment arrangement.
I figured TL would appreciate this more than most, as we're a bit more interested in Korean culture than the average person, so I thought I'd share. One thing I am going to miss is finding interesting or funny videos/wikipedia articles/whatever whilst searching for something related to the topic. As such, while looking for the video above, I found this:
Oh, and I also don't know how I'm going to survive without porn.
Good luck! I feel sometimes like doing the same thing. I'm tied to the damn computer more than I care to admit. I hope your mission is a good one. Come back in a year and let us know how it went!

Using a computer can be somthign that the world offers for you to use. Quitting computers is not the answer. You need a change of thought.
I think you missed him... too bad, because this is good advice. :D
I have similar thoughts about my own life. If I control too much of what I experience(internet is a big culprit for this), I won't have a very good time and will soon feel as though I am stagnating.
I have to have parts of my life that are outside of my control. I have to have unexpected events in my life, many of them.
Sadly I work 12 hours a day, so coming home at 7pm , showering, and eating supper only leaves me with a 2 hours on the computer.
Perhaps you just need to find a job with long hours. You will make alot more money, be much less bored, and appreciate coming home and relaxing on the computer ALOT more than if you are just sitting there stewing in your own boredom with absolutely nothing going for you.
