Just installed for the 21345th time my starcraft favorite game. There was no need of cd key as i knew it in heart.
So, as usual i updated my patches and everything and don't forget the install.exe in ur folder in order to leave the cd.
Ok got everything right. What did i do ? Well i wanted to play some cpu games before going to the furious battle.net full of gosu/hack/fastest/ums/whatever players. To my surprise i remember everything be it hotkeys, building or whatever you can think of.
Now onto battle.net on US-West server (why not europe ? Cauz i had a friend that asked me to go op tl-west some days ago).
JESUS CHRIST. NEVER GOT SO PISSED FOR A LONG TIME.
What happened ? Fine. Out of like 30 games i got :
10 bans.
10 boot.
7 games host left.
Finally got an obs game. Jesus chris, were a lot of lags before the obs could get out of this goddamn game.
He first picked P then as he saw i was a Z user he wanted to play ZvZ, so whatever but it sure pissed me.
I finally won this game by using 3 hatches glings, ez and fast.
2nd game : ZvT. as i was about to (re)scout the base i saw like 10 marines when i was just about to put my 3rd hatch. I was thinking wtf ? Either he's doing an all in strat or i'm way off the build order.
Turn out it was a mineral hacker. Won it though. Fuk it.
3rd game : ZvP Another hacker.
Seriously.
Sure i should have installed Iccup but i didn't want to install any other thing beside Starcraft and get to play 1v1 for fun as fast as i could. Seems like it was a bad idea.
BUT WTF HOW DID STARCRAFT BECOME TO THIS ? Way to piss some fresh newbies starcraft players off as they won't understand a single shit about what going on and then leave.
I hope it won't be the case in SC2 and hope that you'll be as much polite as you can be whenever it comes out since they are what bring us new players and get more competitions. Afterall we were all like them when we first started playing starcraft right ?

They weren't many of them on europe server (for hacks that is, or at the very least map hack).
But it had the same boot/ban thing as i had no more stats, AND NO MAPS.
So everytime i've joined a game it was always a ban that would ensue. FFS.

I always remembered bnet to be a place full of hackers, newbies, and bm players. But I was in all three categories back then. Thank god for ICCUP. I can't play without antihack and lan latency now.

Keep away from the blizz servers. There is evil lurking there. It hacks and hacks and won't let you play a single nice game.

I feel you man. I've always enjoyed playing some public 2v2 games (or 1v1 occasionally) in europe to chill out but as time goes by it's getting harder and harder to have all the common sense things in one game. I haven't played in a while, because of pc trouble issues but I'm guessing it's the same or even worse since I stopped.
For all of you crying about iccup as a solution. It would be cool to be able to get some decent chilled public games there, but everyone there is a fucking stats whore and a A+ wannabe. 95% of the people you find to get some 2v2s freak out when they lose blaming it all on their ally (you) start cursing etc etc. Unfortunately, the only guys that make non-ladder public games are D- level.
Iccup is cool if you want to ladder. It can't provide fun chilled out games with strangers. Even for 1v1, you're doomed to have to go through the pain of learning all the new korean maps every 2 months or play with D level players on a standard plain regular map like Python (not even thinking about LT or Luna).

go to east, despite what everyone says... I always get good play/obs games 100% of the time, good as in non-hackers or discers.

There is no terran mineral hack it would simply be a rigged map. (I searched on a certain website.)

You don't have to ladder to play on ICCUP.
Just go to channels like Op IRC.
