Seeing Xeofreestyler doing his Dubstep blog, I decided to make a blog about the style of music I like the most when clubbing: Minimal
Characteristics of this form of techno are a very minimalistic arrangement, pretty slow (compared to other forms of techno) beat, hypnotic, monotonous but often melodic, developing slowly usually ending with an anti-climax
It's just great music to dance (in a meditative way)
The following tracks are all favorites of mine: [sometimes embedded video doesn't work and you have to watch on Youtube]
Trentemoller - Into the trees (this one has actually a lot of action for a minimal track) + Show Spoiler +
Minimal techno is nice now and then but gets boring when one listens to it too much. Out clubbing it's really a bore, don't know how you like this kind of music when you are in for a party. Overall progressive house is a far better genre, more melody, more emotion, more action.
Also Dusty Kid is a good artist who makes electro-house and minimal techno.
Finnaly a blog i really can participate in! I almost though noone listens to techno around here, but im glad i was wrong. The new, lighter, slower, minimalistic techno is THE music at for me, eventough its not energetic like old techno was. Its cool in many ways. If u have the chance to go see Umek, for gods sake DO IT! His gigs are amazing. He is the Slovenian father of Techno and thats why im "promoting" him.
and probably one of the best track I've ever heard is this new version of Man With The Red Face by Laurent Garnier done by Funkagenda and Mark Knight (those have to be my fave UK producers)
NP m8, still uber tunes. And nowadays electronice genres are so close to eachother that u can mix electro house / tech house / techno / progressive house / trance together. One of the DJs that does this is Sander van Doorn.
