GRRRRRRR.... thats the last remaining computer problem still resisting my troubleshooting expertise.
about 97% of my freakin' videos just don't have icons when you open the folder that contains them.(they have the gay choose program icon). i then try to go; open with -> choose program, and select the option 'always opens with this program' but again...never gives me my video icon. really lame. I'm trying to set windows media player classic as my default video player, and i try to associate video files with it, but XP still won't associate my player's icon to each video file T___T . fuckin' weird because when i click on the icon, the video still plays with my media classic -.-V
Help plz...thats the last annoyance still standing in my beautiful PC

i never used VLC...and i've always had my icons until now..so i doubt that would be a good way to solve it.
i disabled the autoplay for my external hard drives because i was tired of waiting for that shit..the only option was to disable it for all drives , including my C:
maybe autoplay has something to do with my icons?

VLC is way better than using the default windows player, unless you for some reason like your computer lagging up.
Just try it.

Go into Explorer, Hit Tools->Folder Options. Choose the File Types tab. Find the file type you want (avi, wmv, whatever), select it and hit advanced. Then hit Change Icon and choose the icon/program you want to use as that filetype's icon. Hope that helps!

That worked , #1. Thanks
One last remaining problem, i have to manually open my Media player classic before opening my video files. T_T . even if my files now have their video icons, i click on them, nothing happens. but if i manually open my player, it reads everything ....bleh
that might have something to do with autoplay.
