Appealing to Australian's with Satellite TV here.

So in my lounge room, I have got a Strong SRT receiver (?) which is connected to a satellite dish on the top of my house. All I know is, we are currently on the Optus D2 satellite, and we can get/watch TGN (Thai Global Network), NHK World and some other crap (mostly Christian/Arab channels I don't give a shit about).

What I want to know is, how can I get more channels/connect to more satellites? Specifically, I want to receive Arirang TV/any other Korean channels (MBC/SBS/KBS etc).

I'm completely clueless when it comes to satellite configuration so I would really appreciate the help.

I don't particularly think you can... Different satellite networks service different areas in the world... It is the reason why you can pick up the Thai satellites cause they are in our region I think Korea is not though.

I think you can look up the regions by looking up the service areas of geo / leo / meo satellites.

Yea I think it depends on the satellite provider you go with. I haven't had satellite in a few years now but I had DirecTV and we had the option of having spanish stations from Mexico if we wanted that package.

I also learned that there's a Arab satellite subscriber here in Texas, USA which have like the Christian/Arab stations your speaking about. What I'm trying to get at is that it might depend on your satellite provider to be able to access different regions of the world. Thou I am not 100% sure since I am just making an assumption.

I don't have a satellite provider per se, we just hired some guy to install it on our roof and the decoder, and thats it. No ongoing costs or anything.
