After a successful Saturday of frozen waterfall hunting, the group and I decided to go out again the next day to a place called Panther Town and hunt for some more.
Once again, we found them.
It had snowed a little before we got to our destination, so everything had a nice layer of white to it. It was definitely colder, but still enjoyable to stay out for hours without being miserable.
Once again, no serious injuries befell us, although I don't know how we got so lucky again. The three worst things that happened to us were #3: Someone missed a jump and fell waste deep in freezing water, #2: Someone tripped on a root while jumping and fell face first into more frozen roots, #1: While on the very edge of a pyroclastic mountain top, someone slipped and fell into me, which would have caused both of us to fall to our dooms had I not heard him and immediately braced for impact. (I almost died!)
Here are the pics. As usual, I've left out most of the ones of us doing dumb stuff that does not show the scenery:
+ Show Spoiler +^-- The white mountain in front of us is where we were going. I'm the one on the left. + Show Spoiler + + Show Spoiler + + Show Spoiler + + Show Spoiler + + Show Spoiler + + Show Spoiler + + Show Spoiler + + Show Spoiler + + Show Spoiler + + Show Spoiler + + Show Spoiler + + Show Spoiler + + Show Spoiler + + Show Spoiler + + Show Spoiler + + Show Spoiler + + Show Spoiler +
Tada~
There might be another frozen wonderland post coming soon--it is supposed to snow all night tonight and all day tomorrow!

If you aren't exaggerating about the danger to you then I think you should seriously prioritize your safety over our enjoyment of your pictures (even though they have been very good).

This is one of the most amazingly beautiful pictures I have ever seen. You should submit this to a photo contest or something.
I think it would win.

I agree; you almost died? If you're serious, you shouldn't keep going on your trips.
But the pictures are amazing . However, if you died trying to take these pictures, they wouldn't be as awesome. But good job

Great pictures though. For some reason I expected a completely frozen, unmoving waterfall. Those still have water flowing right?

I am not exaggerating our perils. When I go to sleep at night, I still feel uneasy about how close I was to eating the shit sandwich... but... I didn't... so whateva
Yeah most of the ice had melted from saturday, so the frozen waterfalls were not as solid as the previous ones.
Everyone would have been totally screwed if we fell off - the guy that slipped and fell into me had the car keys and we were the only ones out there, haha. Next time we are totally bringing rope.

The picture of the close up icicle that fontong pointed out is just drop dead amazing. It's so delicate and beautiful, and it looks like a hand, to boot. It's my new Desktop background.

Sick pictures! It's amazing what you can do today with a regular digital camera.
I can only imagine it looks even better if you are actually there.

Wow I'm jealous... I hate living in big cities... Especially ones that don't snow at all... <3 Snow
