The day after Christmas day = boxing day and it is a huge thing here in Australia.
You get discounts and shits and the culture is a bit like black Friday.
I'm stuck tho, i don't really know what i want to get + my girl is pissed at me + my car is broken so i don't really know if i cbfed going.
Suggestions? I don't need computer stuff because i can source them cheaper. I don't really need cloth either because i have to wear white shirt where i work and i don't really need to spend anymore than $10 on each.
blah blah

the obvious thing would be flowers for your girl

nah, fuck her she wants to get pissy on jesus's big day. i can't reward that behavior.
I think i might get something for my car.

I might just get some books and DVDs and chill. Fuck this xmas.

or you could say "fuck it", grab a 2v2 partner and spend the rest of the day playing in the tourney quick! only 1.25 hours until sign ups end!

Isn't the idea of boxing day that you give stuff to other people, not buy more for yourself? -.-

Why is it called "Boxing" Day?
|
Noone knows why it's called Boxing Day, but the original premise was back in Victorian England, it was the day after christmas, and the nobility would do a piss poor job of serving christmas for their servants, as a way of thanks for doing it the day before.
|
As a kid I was always told it was called Boxing Day because you start to box all unwanted presents and give it to charity, I don't know how true that is though.

And to answer the OP, personally I almost never impulse buy, the only time I do is at the supermarket with food/fruit. So I would had to have planned to buy something specific to go out and shop today, I rather stay home and watch the cricket, fridge is already full of beer.
It's just money dude hold it and spend it on something you actually want, not because crap you don't need is now cheaper.

I asked my dad this recently and he was really certain when he said that it's to box all the Christmas decorations and stuff for next year.
Today at the local mall was totally. Parking was pretty hillarious too with people parking on walkways and stuff. Didn't buy anything myself but helped my mum carry some of her stuff that she bought.
