I've heard there are ways you can play your video game consoles on you monitor and I was wanting to figure out how because:
I can't afford a TV right now.
My room is way too small to fit a TV anyway, my computer bearly fits in here.
So the first way I've heard of is just directly plugging in the video and audio cords to the matching input slots in the back of your monitor but mine does not have them.
So the other way I've heard of is getting a VGA/DVI adapter that you plug into your monitor and you plug the video and audio cords from your console(my Wii in this case)into the other end of the adapter. I would like to try doing this, so does anyone have any experience with this kind of way or where I can get this adapter? If I need to get it online I will just get my brother to get it for me with his VISA then pay him the cash as we have done before.
My computer connects to my monitor via the VGA slot so I was hoping to get an adapter for the DVI slot instead, that way I won't have to disconnect my computer monitor every time to play wii on it. Advice/how this works anyone?
Thanks.

EDIT: The only reason I want to play my Wii so bad is because I got ToS: DotNW this weekend and I am so psyccccccccccced to play it =D
I'll let you know how it is on my next blog.

umm all of those things on your video card are outs so that wouldn't really work. You would need a card that could take inputs, like the ones that they sell with tv tuners. Unless you could get a component to VGA cable

I'm guessing your monitor has VGA/DVI..
I don't know about the Wii, but the Xbox360 has a HDMI slot so I'm probably going to buy cheap HDMI to DVI cable and use that for both my laptop (which has a HDMI slot as well) and xbox360 (when I get it )

If you look around some computer/tech shops online (somewhere like this for instance, you should be about to find the right DVI/VGA to whatever it is that the Wii uses.

Ok
UPDATE:
I was looking at the pieces that came with my monitor when I got it and it this is what I have:
DVI to DVI cable
VGA to VGA cable
DVI to HDMI adapter
DVI to VGA adapter
Currently I have the DVI to VGA adapter attached to my graphics card, and then my VGA to VGA cable connecting from the adapter to the monitor.
The monitor has a VGA and a DVI slot in it and my graphics card has two DVI slots.
So theoretically couldn't I use a component to DVI connector, a component to VGA connector, or a component to HDMI connector to make this work?

EDIT: Oh what I checked my Wii and it doesn't have an HDMI output, so I need to use the red, yellow, and white components then right?

My RCA(?) cords from my will plug into the 'female' end and the DVI('male') end plugs into my monitor.

Do you have the wii component cables? That adapter will work for the video if you do, but you still need to sort out the sound.
No I'm never serious.
