calculator problem

i have a TI 84 plus silver edition (pretty standard stuff for a graphing calculator) and i really like it and use it all the time blah blah blah

anyways, in my calc class, we just started doing parametric equations and my calculator fails at graphing them. even when i do things the same as the guy next to me, the graph comes out full of angles and not quite complete, when its supposed to look like a fluffy cloud or a circle or something. my teacher is a technologic noob and has no idea how to deal with calculator problems

anyone encountered such an error in their mathing career?
i hope its something simple like a wrong setting

an example problem
edit (whoops wrong number): x = 7sin(T) - sin(7T) ; y = 7 cos(T) - cos(7T) and T max set to 2pi
its supposed to come out looking sorta like this

this is the general idea found on google search ^.^
there are a few more bumps and its symmetrical
mine comes out like an off balance hexagon that doesnt quite finish

You need to make sure you window is large enough to graph the entire graph, you can set the bounds for t. Also you can tell it how often to calculate, the more often you tell it to calculate the smoother it will be. Those options are both under window.

Try resetting the calculator memory entirely if you can't isolate any problem with the settings. I doubt your calculator is just dumb lol.

make sure you're in radian mode?

the window is big enough, i think the t is okay, but ill experiment a bit
when i make t really big, it doesn't actually repeat exactly, it rotates a bit, so it becomes a really thick circle ~_~

i did it once on accident before but i cant find it x.x

Do you have the manual? If not, I'm not sure because I have the 86 and 89t but not 84 plus. Ironically almost all of my students have the 84 plus. There should be a menu over one of the buttons (second function) that deals with memory.

Oh that reminds me, once my calculator was screwed up after a test and I couldn't finish a problem. so I went up to the teacher and asked what was wrong, and she asked me if I played games on it. I said yeah, so then she just reset it and then I asked if I could take it back and finish the problem and she said no. But I also looked at another persons paper for the answer so I guess its good that she didnt give it back
