Hullo! I haven't been around here for a long time but I've really grown to like this community : ). And so I thought I'd post here to tell people that I'm moving to Seoul tommorow!
Basically the point of this is because I wanna meet some people when I get over there, maybe grab some beers or something, and just have fun : ) I just finished my Uni degree (I'm 21 and from Ireland) and thought it'd be a pretty awesome experience to spend a year (or more, who knows) in Korea, if i happen to get my ass kicked in Starcraft a few hundred times then I'm down with that too! I'm like a D+ Zerg. : )
So if any of you dudes in Seoul who want to go out for a beer or something sometime soon then gimme a shout! I'm honestly not sure where I'll be living but that just makes it more exciting?!? I guess? : (

you're moving to seoul tomorrow and you still dont know where exactly you'll be living?
how does that work?
|
Well, you can always live at some guesthouse or at jimjilbang for a while.
I don't live in Korea anymore but if you're in Seoul, get omurice at Omuto Tomato. I grantee it's really kickass! Some real random advice but for some reason that was the first thing that came to mind when I saw this blog.

Well basically I'm gonna be in a Motel in the Gangnam area (I think that's what it was on the subway map) for a few days while I get an apartment,
I've heard the food is amazing! So I will definitely keep this Omuto Tomato place in mind. : ]

I'm living in Seoul right now - if you fancy going to any games give me a bell. I'll be working at the events, but it'd be cool to see another foreigner at loox or Yongsan.

I'm hopefully going back to Korea next summer
I'm jealous of you haha dude you're gonna have a lot of fun!

gangnam is where wealthy people live. are you rich?

going north of the river will be cheaper than south. a small studio in kangnam area, fully furnished will run you around 900-1200 a month, USD. if you're in kangnam area and decide to come out to coex mall, i live right around there, send me a PM or something if you wanna catch dinner. i'm always up for meeting new TL people.

Ohh man this is so awesome!
Everyone here is so friendly : ], even with my completely broken Korean, we usually just end up playing charades for like 5 minutes and then we'll both laugh for different reasons.
I think I'll be living nearish to Euljiro? I was originally going to be around samsongdong but I guess my boss figured to move me with my circumstances.
Anyway! nice amount of response here, appreciate it! :} I'll definitely try to arrange some meetings sometime.
The motel I stayed in the night before I came here in London had like, a single bed and a rusty bath and it cost a similar amount to this one, where they provided free internet, some.... HOOOJ tv, watercooler, A/C (thank god : } ) and a double bed... and lots of other fun things! ooh a hairdryer.
Now I need to turbolearn korean. At the moment I try to get most people to write what they're saying because I can read it much better then I can understand it spoken. It's pretty different from any other language I learnt.
Anyway that's my thoughts for now, I also got to try some Kimchi and it was awesome!
ooh and i can watch Pro BW at normal times now : }

you can turbolearn during chu seok since i heard its pretty boring for foreigners
