Im not sure if other people do this or not, or if they can do it (im a superhero?). But in the morning when I'm awake but still sleeping, or just lying in bed thinking about things. I can like start imagining a story in my head, and then I will like fall into a light sleep. While i sleep i will have a dream about, what happens next in the story i was just thinking of. So it's a bit like i can create my own dreams. Can anyone else do this?

Is this at all related to lucid dreaming? Where you can kind of control everything that goes on in your mind during dreams?

Sounds pretty fuckin baller but I can't do that =[

It's called lucid dreaming, yeah a few people are able to do this. There's even a way to train yourself to do this

Unfortunately I haven't bothered learning/I don't have the ability to do it.

I can sort of do this if I want to finish a dream that got interrupted, but many things change when I go back. I think it matters on how fast you get back into your dream because then you haven't forgotten as much.

Haha when I was younger I was even able to switch between a few dreams, like watching TV :D But by now I can only control one dream when in lucid dreaming

Srsly though, I thought I was the only one out there that had this happen. I guess it must be a special skill then.

I must be getting old because I can never remember my dreams. Although as a kid I remember having this one dream where I dreamt that I woke up and went through the whole day only to wake up after I fell asleep in my dream. That was one messed up day.
this is my quote.

i usually have really vivid and exciting dreams when I take melatonin to help me sleep. and sometimes they can be pretty lucid. having them and going through the process of having control in your dreams is probably one of my favorite things to do. ha.

I would describe it as a combination of sleep, mindfulness, and intentional desire.

The most likely cause of not being able to remember any dreams is distraction or apathy.

or a combination

This is a common psychological effect; if you think deeply about one subject and don't go off on tangents before you sleep, oftentimes you dream about what you were thinking about.

Another insane thing that worked for me (and works for lots of other people, I hear), is if you visualize the clock in your room saying the time you want to wake up at a few times in a short time span before sleeping (like, say, 5:00 AM on your digital clock), you will wake up at that time with no alarm clock. This is of course unless you are insanely tired or drugged or don;t concentrate hard enough.
Peace~

Lucid dreaming is more like you being able to control the direction of your dream IN the dream, like making conscious decisions and not just watching it like a movie, and it is done entirely in sleep as you are exiting the late sleep stages and are approaching lower stages / waking up. This (the OP) is more like setting a direction for your dreams by thinking about a subject beforehand.
Peace~

kinda off topic, but sometimes when i am sleeping, i can't recognize between a dream and reality, so whenever this happens i'm questioning myself, like should i fuck this girl? lol. it's frustrating.

i also hate dimmed lights, sleep paralysis, screaming noise that wakes me the fuck up, and running down endless stairs like from a top of a building because i am being chased by a fucking ghost.

It's NOT lucid dreaming............
lucid dreaming is being aware of in a dream, and creating a dream is not exactly the same.

You maybe aware that you're creating a dream, but fabricating your own dream can be done before actually going asleep by thinking about it a lot, while lucid dreaming is knowing you're in a dream while asleep. These two are very different.

Life is run, it is dance, it is fast, passionate and BAM!, you dance and sing and booze while you can for now is the time and time is mine. Smile and laugh when still can for now is the time and soon you die!

And hence ur body went "Hell not doing that again..." so you can't get more dreams now...

I've done both lucid dreaming and "dream creating". It's both fun. Makes me want to go to bed .

I can induce lucid dreaming and topical dreams so to speak. I find it very easy to do when I am in that "Am I awake or still asleep?" phase in the early morning. In the past month I have had many dreams where I have woken up in the dream and thought I was actually awake. I had a dream where I got up out of bed and was thirsty, I went out into the hallway and remarked to my mother that I'd just had a dream where everything was dry and I was really thirsty, so I walked out to the kitchen and then woke up for real, and felt thirsty. I walked out to my mother and got the weirdest deja vu ever.. last night I made myself dream about tennis. I think that was partially influenced by that thread about playing tennis on tl.net, and it made me remember how much I enjoyed it.

Everyone can remember his/her dreams, and can actually lucid dream as well. Some can do it more easily (they're natural) and some have to work a lot to accomplish it. There are many ways to reach the ability to reach lucid dream at will, but remembering your dreams is basics if you want to go on.
I think you have that ability, what you do is a kind of WILD (wake induced lucid dream) since it is usually done at the time you say (early morning). You're very lucky and there're lot's of things you can learn and do in LDs.

I learnt how to do this a few years ago and it was pretty fun, but I found that I didn't feel as energetic when I woke up so I stopped doing it. I remember having full control of what happened in my dreams. Although it's really odd because it feels real but at the same time you feel like you're not thinking the same things you usually would when awake. I also always dream in 3rd person (watching myself, like in a computer game) so I think my experience would've been different to most people's.

Not everyone's the same though, my friend kept getting false awakenings and messed up sleep. I think if you can't do it quickly then just don't bother.

Dreams are really fun though, there's this particular one that I get whenever I have a fever. It's really creepy, but enjoyable like a horror movie.
No I'm never serious.

I almost always wake up ~5-10 minutes before my alarm clock goes off and then turn it off before it starts ringing no matter at which time I put it. If I know that I have to go up in five hours I usually wake up at that time etc.

Slightly, never really gave it an effort. Tho I've heard of ppl that can do anything in their dreams. I once dreamt I was like Peter from Heroes. And in that dream, it was like, lets try this, and it worked. Then I tried more stuff and everything worked like I was contoling it. Fun dream, normally I suck at it.
