Some random questions

1) I got an ipod touch (yay) and I want to add some videos. What's a reliable + free way of converting .avi -> mp4???

2) this is a really weird problem. So I have an ATI radeon 9550 and today I tried playing Splinter Cell Chaos Theory but there was an error saying that I didn't have shader 1.1... This really confused me because the game ran smoothly a few days ago, and I knew my video card wasn't THAT shitty. So I tried playing some other games like cs:s and tf2, and they just wouldn't load.. So then I went to www.systemrequirementslab.com to see if my video card could run the game.. and it showed this for video card:
"Video Card Features - Minimum attributes of your Video Card

Video RAM: Required - 64 MB , You have - 256 MB
Video Card 3D Acceleration: Required - Yes , You have - No

how is this possible??? I know for a fact my card definitely exceeds those categories... Is the report wrong or did my video card somehow die overnight? Sorry I'm a complete noob when it comes to computers =/ and yup drivers are all updated.

3) And is the painting in that one oldboy scene that had "Laugh and the world laughs with you. Weep and you weep alone." at the bottom a famous/notable painting?? If so please give me the name or a link because I've been trying to find that painting for so long =(

4) anyone going to the PAX expo on Aug 29-31 in Seattle?? I will be going all three days and I think they're hosting a sc tourney this year.

The Free way i suggest you look up
StaxRip(Easier to you it auto does the muxing which isn't hard to learn but yeah)
MeGUI

Those are the 2 common programs for x264(H.264/MPEG-4AVC) codec

Basically you just need to put the avi to there and convert XVID/DVIX/MP3 to H.264/AAC (does ipod though support it it should considering quicktime is .mp4 h.264) just make sure you set the container to .mp4 instead of .mkv

I'm sure there are vids how to do it if not i can show a simple one if I get bored.

It's how i would do it but that's just me i use MeGUI to convert everything in mass etc but im use to it also i know its clean
