And to whoever said you increase your risk of anorexia by fasting, it's not true. The risk of eating disorders increases greatly with dieting, bulimia because of the binge-eating that is likely to follow, and anorexia because of the control the person feels she gains. Even then though, dieting is more of a catalyst for developing eating disorders than a cause or risk factor. The biggest cause of eating disorders is cultural factors, while the biggest risk factor for eating disorders is social factors such as peer pressure or family perfectionism. Dieting just gets the ball rolling so to speak.
So yeah, go for it! I used to have challenges like how many days I could stay awake, or how many days I could go in a row with 2 hours sleep (more fun than just staying awake, cause after 48 hours of not sleeping at all it's basically physiologically impossible to stay awake anymore).
Go go random challenge!

Just because I am fighting ignorance that doesn't mean I am supporting anorexia or something. Actually, I was disgusted by the idea that I am suddenly supposed to be an anorexia supporter. I didn't say you were an anorexia supporter, I said it sounds like you have an eating disorder =/ Like you're accusing westerners of being greedy pigs (not your words exactly, of course, but it seemed implied) for eating regularly lol. Sure your body can survive with no permanent ill effects if you fast for 3 days, but it won't function nearly as well as it would on a full stomach. Have you ever tried playing a sport without eating earlier in the day? You feel like you're going to pass out if you don't stop, and maybe even vomit. The fact is that it's stupid not to eat regularly if you can. The body stores fat for emergencies, not because it's practical to use them up all the time.

No way I'd do something like this. It took me long enough to gain to where I want to be in weight. I'm not going to make the years look like a waste.
Also I work ufll time. Don't want to end up in a ditch somewhere

WTF man. I didn't even talk about myself. I can at least see how you can interpret what I said wrongly and think it would support someone who has anorexia in their behavior. But this, I never ever said anything about myself.
Sure your body can survive with no permanent ill effects if you fast for 3 days, but it won't function nearly as well as it would on a full stomach.
Just because it doesn't use the most effective metabolism, that doesn't mean the body doesn't function properly.

Yes And I have no problems with it. Sure, you won't perform as well as you would with fresh energy, but that's about it. Vomiting? How can you vomit without food in your stomach? Anyway, I never vomited anyway.
The body stores fat for emergencies, not because it's practical to use them up all the time.
The body stores glycogen and fat because it doesn't expect 3 meals a day, every day. And it can digest it's own organs and muscles after 3 weeks without food in case of emergency.
You bring up sports. I never ever mentioned that before. You shouldn't fast while exercising. Our urge for food does not reflect our actual need. And that's what fasting is about. Apparently you are unaware of this. Sure, eating 3 times a day fresh raw vegetables is the best. This is not about what eating pattern is the best. It's about fasting.

Am I incorrect or is the world record for fasting 49 days? Source Here
I heard you can only go about 5 days without water if you don't waste anything, but if it's a survival situation you can only go about 2-3 days and in a desert about 24 hours. (Man vs. Wild, anyone? :D)

I mean, something that accomplishes nothing and is fairly uncomfortable I would consider less productive than accomplishing something that thousands of people set their mind on accomplishing... but yeah I can still see why it's funny.
