I was so appreciative of the responses to the previous blog post (some slightly more than others) that I decided to post an official response piece by piece.

On March 07 2008 14:13 starrek wrote:
why wouldnt they?

Because many places don't serve lunch food with breakfast and vice versa.

On March 07 2008 14:15 tec27 wrote:
They always have the soda machines on, you'll be fine

Thanks, this was very helpful.

On March 07 2008 14:21 clazziquai wrote:
Lol I always ask for juice, drink it then refill it with soda.

But idk if they actually give soda for breakfast (take-out).

I WANT MCDONALDS NOW!

1) Good at places where they let you get your own soda, perhaps.
2) Turns out they do.
3) Huhuhuhu

On March 07 2008 14:26 rpf wrote:
I've bought soda at 7 AM before.

Edit: It's possible your McDonald's does it differently; however, BK is the "have it your way" place, so just go there.

1) Good to know.
2) Haven't tried BK but I'd be interested to know.

On March 07 2008 14:35 ATeddyBear wrote:

Yeah I remember getting it before... why would it suck?

Why don't you ask them?

If I get to the drive through window and ask them, and they say they don't serve it, then I'm screwed with getting caffeine.

Fast-food breakfasts are surprisingly not bad imo, and yes BK does have breakfast.
They have round hash browns that taste pretty good. Also, the french toast is good from what I remember, although last time I had breakfast at BK was years ago.

I also don't go to McDonald's anymore since I was inducted into the 50 McNugget club.

What is the 50 McNugget club?

so sad harvey's got rid of their service they had THE BEST breakfast omgg

I see... I wouldn't know.

Yes they do, at least at the one I go to nearby my house at university. Only problem I had was that I thought I could just sub it in without any additional fees since I figured the pop comes their taps and the apple juice they give you is so small but they ended up charging me an arm and a leg for it :/

Always annoying, although not a problem for me today :D

A legitamite one for anyone who doesn't go to fast food places that often.

I don't know if I'd say it's great, but at least it can be good if you pick the right items.

I realize that, however, it doesn't have any bearing on my original question.

I'm not sure if it was at McDonald's, but there have been many times where I've seen people default to 'coke' for no real reason.

If you get the better items, they taste fine. McDonald's as a whole is certainly bad for you and should be eaten sparingly. When I go to fast food places, I try to be smart about it and reduce the impact. For example, at Wendy's I get a caeser side salad instead of fries.

As long as you don't interpret it too literally, I will agree that some of it tastes pretty bad... but some is fine.

Yeah it seems soda is available whenever they are open.

Yes, you can get a pop with breakfast.

See above, but I also don't understand what people mean... I mean... call the McDonald's? Haha who does that. As I said, if I wait until I'm there to ask them, it defeats the purpose of me asking here, and creates the problem described above if it turns out they don't serve it.

Why are you making a new blog for this? What is wrong with you? Do you really want to burry content this badly?

COME ON PEOPLE. Don't burry content with rambling and mass posts just because blogs aren't moderated.

The 50 McNugget club isn't an official thing or whatever. My friends that I visited [ who live in another state ] one summer decided to run this idea as a challenge. As a side note, they were pretty hefty friends of mine and during that summer I gained 15 pounds eating with them. I was a solid 5'10 160 pounds when I left for the trip.

Anyway, we did it the last day before I left and out of around 8 people only 3 made it all the way through 50 Mcnuggets. I haven't eaten at McDonald's since. This was around 2 years ago. It was really fun and I have pictures and stuff haha, but alas the memory of the last rubbery 10 makes me not want to ever eat there again.

I'd eat the breakfast though, McGriddles are the shittttttt.

There was a specific reason why I made this into a new blog post (which I did not explicitly state). Perhaps upon further inspection it will become obvious why I felt the desire to do it.

I agree that some people overdo it... but if you limit it to at most one post per day it isn't that bad.

Haha, I had a similar experience where my friends and I tried to scarf down 5 double cheeseburgers each. Needless to say, only I finished and we all had diahrrea shortly after we returned to our homes.

From dictionary.com: useless: of no use; not serving the purpose or any purpose; unavailing or futile: It is useless to reason with him.

It just so happens that the exchanges were quite useful. It answered my question which, at the time, was important. I also maintain that it was not a ridiculous question to ask.

Okay I'll make a modest attempt. In the original topic, I asked a specific question that I needed a fairly timely answer to, and nobody I spoke to in real life had a confident answer. As a result, I turned to a community where I could post in a fairly non-intrusive manner and expect many people who have the answer to read it. I got a few responses that were exactly what I was looking for, saying things like "Yeah they will serve it; I know because of X reason." I also got a few responses that had pretty much nothing to do with the OP other than McDonald's but that didn't really bother me since they were rather harmless, and not with bad intentions. I got a few posts that I'll re-quote:

On March 07 2008 14:49 MoRe_mInErAls wrote:

I found each of these noteworthy. The first and the last for the same reason... I mean wtf I'm still waiting for someone to explain that one to me...

One or two of them were just rude, with no justification. I mean why ask "wtf kind of question is this" honestly... either ignore it, or provide some justification for WHY you are against someone asking a harmless question about a restaurant they are about to go to, in their own fucking blog.

Some guy defined what a soda tap is for me, completely missing the point.

In other words, I was flabbergasted by the diversity of the responses, and was going to try to politely (rather than rudely which I'm being forced to do right now) point out the ridiculousness. This no longer had anything to do with what I was going to get for breakfast (the issue is long since resolved successfully, mostly due to my creation of the first OP). This was about ridiculous or strange/confusing responses.

Of course, you could say, "If your goal was to point out a sampling of strange/ridiculous posts, why did you respond to the normal posts also as though this thread was a continuation of the previous one?" and my answer is "Well I wanted to be polite and respond to the people that were helpful as well, and ideally I should have split it so I responded to the people I was pleased with in the original thread, and then the people I was displeased with in the new thread to approach the new issue, but it really didn't occur to me at the time as I was a bit preoccupied. However, I can assure you the OP in this thread is meant to stand alone even without any input on the posts I was happy with, so long as you don't mind me reverting to a position where I am quicker to be rude (and I honestly don't like doing this when I can avoid it, but I don't adhere to my own principles sometimes).

Hopefully that clarified it to some extent.

I think what Chill is confused about is that you could have just as efficiently responded to each post in the original thread rather than create a new thread about the exact same topic. It seems pretty unnecessary and spammish.

But anyways, you're welcome. Ask me any McDonald's questions anytime.

I was making an entirely new point that would have been [almost] completely overlooked that way (it might have been almost entirely overlooked anyway, but that's just because this is the blogs section).

Thanks. However, I don't plan on having too many (fortunately).
