First off, a little about me:
I am 17 years old. I am from Alaska. If you have any questions about that, feel free to ask. I generally will answer all serious questions. If you too are from here (I am guessing no one reading this is because the StarCraft scene is practically dead here), please let me know. I have been looking for people in my area that play SC, but unfortunately, I have had no good results. And on to my posting habits...
I check TL.net very often. I have been reading the forums for quite some time now. I registered in 2006, but before that I was reading for maybe a year. Only in the past couple months have I really started to post anything). Usually I skip the Starcraft 2 section and all political / religious threads, as I find they tend to create nothing but problems.
Now, as far as ICCup goes:
My main race is Terran, and I am one of the few that actually enjoys playing TvT. My TvP is probably my best matchup, I think around the C level. Then comes TvT around C- and my TvZ is horrible. I play TvZ at maybe the mid-D to low D+ level.
As far as ladders go, I haven't really been active on them. Back in PGTour I would play 2-3 games a season and then stop. It wasn't until ICC Season 2 that I started to play about a hundred games in that season. It still isn't a lot, but I am working on it. ICCup is a good place to practice, and I think with this blog I will be more devoted to it.
ICCup up until now:
I cleared my stats 2 days ago because I wanted to start fresh. The majority of my ICCup games were off-raced. I decided to just restart and play as Terran only.
Currently I am 9-4.
TvT 0-0 TvP 5-2 TvZ 2-0 PvT 2-2 (I said I would Terran only, but I couldn't resist T.T)
Today I didn't play much ICCup. I only went 2-1 (1-0 TvZ 1-1 PvT) ending with a total of 1935 points.
What I learned so far
I learned exactly how useful that 'marginal advantage' thing really is. It helps a lot to keep that in mind. I had a couple times where I had a really nice advantage and I did something really stupid to lose the game. One example was a TvP with close positions. I decided to 2 Factory like I normally do, and he did 14 nexus. Seeing he did this FE, I went crazy and tried some weird SCV rush.... It didn't work, and he won the game a couple minutes later.
I also learned exactly how important it is to keep a cool head when you are winning. I saw his DT rush, I made an engineering bay, I was happy because I was in a perfect position to stop it (usually DT rush is my death, sad, but true t.t). Looking back at my base I realize I lost several scvs and I forgot to make turrets. Another silly loss I might have been able to prevent. Oh well.
My two goals for tomorrow
The first one I think is a large goal seeing as I usually don't mass game on ladders. I am going to try and get at least to 2500. I don't think there is any reason why I can't get to C- by the end of the week. I will re-evaluate the situation tomorrow night though.
My second goal is to get to 100 wins on US West. I know stats don't matter, but I have been hanging around 95 wins for a couple days now. It is driving me crazy.
On a final note
Thank you for reading all of this. I didn't expect you to. Please give me any comments or questions if you have any. They make me happy. And also, if you are around D+ to C level and play US West, feel free to give me a /f a. I am always looking for new practice partners. My ID is Zero[NaN] ^^.
Once again, I am sorry for any rambling, I tend to do that type of thing, and thank you for reading,
