This is very nice to use on Python 1.3 positions 3:00 -> 12:00 as well as 9:00 -> 12:00, sadly, this cannot be used vice versa. However, I just read on "Return of the Subtitle" That overlords can spot CC/Nexus without the enemy seeing the overlord. So, I set out to test this myself, and find an ideal position for the overlord on Python 1.3 where it is easily memorable where to place the overlord in such a fashion that it is "invisible" to the enemy.
From 12:00 to 3:00, place your overlord here
You can see them... and...
They can't see you!
You can get even slightly closer and actually see the command center clearer, but it is obviously riskier of getting spotted and also it's fine just to use minimap or cursor to see that there is in fact a building there
I have been having troubles finding an ideal location for the 6:00 to 9:00 overlord, but I as of yet, have found none. I have a replay where I do believe I did see the command center without it spotting me, but I cannot replicate it, and of course, if it is not easily replicable, it is not going to be used in games. I would appreciate if someone could find it! I believe that the spotting techniques from the top left and bottom left work, however from the top right and bottom right I couldn't find any when I was testing.
I have had only 2 instances where it was actually able to work from the right side of the CC, and I don't know why it doesn't work from those angles. Anyways, hope you enjoyed this short blog.
