Hey hey!!
I'm dedicating today's blog to a new feature - The Plexa Awards!! This section will occur once every month and attempt to capture the highlights, lowlights and wtflights of the month and of course hand out awesome trophies! There are 10 categories this month they are;
Player of the Month aka MVP
Worst player of the month aka LVP
Rookie of the Month (rookie = hasn't played in a major league or is their first assault and debut'd within the past year)
Veteran of the Month (veteran = strong player 2 or more years ago)
Team of the Month
Game of the Month (and receives the Best game trophy)
Worst game of the Month
Inspiration of the Month
WTF moment of the month
Flop of the month (flop = anything that was overhyped and failed)
Without further adue lets move onto the awards!!
Player of the Month
Without a doubt, this award goes to Lee Jae Dong!! He absolutely dominated the scene this month; only dropping a single game (88.89% winrate). Three instances that show his dominance the best are the following two games;
His game against Sea showed just how a little trip up can start the snowball rolling for Jaedong. After losing some early rines, Sea was in no shape to take on Jaedong at all. Total. Rape.

His game against Iris showed how awesome he really is. After arguably the worst start he could've had, somehow he manage to turn it into a huge advantage. Perhaps iris was lazy on the macro, or maybe its the fact Jaedong was on another level this month. (commentary thanks to Hot_Bid, GTR-2-GO, Kennigit, and Chill)

MVP January - Jaedong
Worst Player of the Month
There were a number of contenders for this award this month, but one person emerged last night to clinch it. This player is none other than BackHo[White] - a player who simply shouldnt have made it into the OSL. Infact, the only reason he was there is that the mappool is so favourable to protoss. (P.S. fuck you for screwing my liquibet streak

LVP January - Backho
Best Rookie
This was another hotly contested award, but keeping true to the rookie name, this award goes to BEST[WHITE]. This kid has shown us that he has godly PvP but this month he has stepped out and lost 2 games (Sea/Xellos) while simultaneously taking down names like Xellos, Anytime and Hwasin. His play is so promising, that im becoming a Best fan more and more every day
. But then the real clincher came; Best ended Jaedong's 13 game winning streak! Here are some of his great games.His game vs Hwasin on Katrina (although an imbalanced map) was reminiscent of Pusan vs Flash. Best abuses arbiters to their fullest extent <3<3
His game vs Savior was also nice. He played out Savior's opening rather well i thought, and then showed some great 2base macro coupled with nice harass to take the game off him.
This is the game that ended Jaedong's 13 game winning streak

Best Rookie - Best
Veteran of the Month
This was a very difficult award to give out this month. But in my most humble and honest opinion, the true veteran of the month was.. July!!
While not posting the best record out of all the veterans, his losses were tough losses to some of the best players around. (losing a zvz to luxury or Jaedong is no shame). But at the end of the day, he is competing for a Golden Mouse and is in both leagues. The one game of his i loved this month was his game against Bisu on blue storm. Sure it was cheesy, sure it was kinda lame. But fuckit, the tension and drama surrounding the game gave it that extra oomph.

Best Veteran - July
Team of the Month
Very easy to give this out.. It has to go to Lecaf, who unexpectantly dominated CJ 4-2. Hit up the vods on the tracker/tlpd if you havent already (theyre not that great bar Jaedong's game).

Inspiration of the month
One player in my mind deserves this, and that is the most Rabid Zerg since July; Kwanro! For his impromptu Sunk rush vs Pusan (and arguably saving CJ).

Inspiration - Kwanro
WTF Moment of the Month
This goes to GomTV S4 MSL for obvious reasons. Only two seeds survived the group phase (and they werent bisu and savior). Bisu, Savior, Memory, Xellos, Free, Nal_Ra and iloveoov all didnt qualify. The group phase of MSL is systematically removing veterans for some bizarre reason... This weird anomaly wins WTF moment of the Month!
Flop of the month
Xellos, you had my hope wayyyy up high. But when you got raped in both MSL and OSL you broke my heart. Im not even going to quote any of your games

Worst Game of the month
Of all the games this month, there have been many many disappointments. However, this game is truly deserving of the title 'Worst game of January 2008'. This game is none other than Savior vs Chalrenge on Baekmagoji
This game is so depressing. Its an absolutely abysmal performance by savior and was literally painful to watch. So while there may be lesser skilled games out there, this wins due to the fact savior use to be soo good, and now.. his games are painful to watch...

Last but not least, the most anticipated award of the evening, the best game of January 08. This is a tough decision to make but there is one game that takes it in my mind. But at the end of the day someone has to win it and that game is...
JAEDONG vs BISU @ BlueStorm
This is one of the best PvZ games ive seen in a long long time, and despite the result, i throughly enjoyed this game. Excellently played by both sides, but Jaedong's endgame is just so fucking good these days and took at the win in the end. Must watch vod if you havent seen it.

Canata vs Kwanro!
There is nothing that i can see that Canata did wrong this game, and Kwanro just fucking raped it. It was just absolutely sick play by Kwanro here, and for that it wins over Jaedong/Iris
