So if ur azn, u know how ur parents yell
"B+?!!! We born you here and u give us B+?!!!!!" or something like that.

Turns out i got a 77% on a 30 question test.
Im seriously going "wtf..." and i threw a variety of things at a wall in my back yard.

Among some of those items i hit the wall with
-Large models of my test made out of legos
-empty cds
-paper ninja stars
-screwdrivers
-nails
-my foot
-a hammer
-the bible ( =x )
-pair of shoes
-my math book ( =D )

I cant fucking i did so poorly on a test that i believed i would ace. Its just impossible...
It seems that its time to start reading the math book instead of dawdling around on the computer doing god knows what.

So after looking at the wall i took out my anger on, i realize that i have been way too stressed out for far too long. i have been cut off socially and have no time to hang out with friends. im forced to stay at home all day long, with no options of going out to get something.

God wheres a punching bag when u need one.

I guess i shouldve done what my dad wanted me to do...read the bible.

...with pencil, paper, and math problems.

Its just so hard to sit still and read something so fucking boring for an hour before doing what you want...i already waste enough time with my mom doing violin and shit...

Well...not in middle school anymore
High school makes u read the book in many many different ways that the middle school never dreamed of.

The sequence of those faces were hilarious!

Haha, so true. This morning in Calculus my professor was explaining how to complete the square for a parabola when using functions or some crazy shit like that. This guy writes a massive equation on the board and everyone is like "WTF!?". (Everyone is copying it down except for me, I usually read the book because I think the professor is an idiot.) During that time my one buddy that sits next to me, turns to me, with a straight face and says, "I think this guy just broke math", I bursted out laughing, as well as everyone else who heard it.

He later explains that the equation is in the middle for some odd reason, and it's a simple plug in problem.
If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans.

I think the key is to work on improving your ability to judge your own preparedness, but that can be difficult when learning some tough new material or if the teacher isn't highly predictable. BTW I'm lucky if my physics students even LOOK at the textbook ._.

chill out, no matter what your parents say getting a C on one test isn't the end of the world. i knew people in high school like that, got straight a's, and then went to a community college because they didn't want to pay for a good school right away. you gotta realize that you don't need a 4.0 unless you want to get in to harvard or something, although it does benefit you to have a high gpa when applying for scholarships.
good vibes only

Coming from a fellow asian, i think you are really over reacting. It was only a 30 question test and you can probably make up for the mistakes by doing better on other tests? Plus, i doubt that your parents will get THAT angry at you for getting 77% on a test that you busted your ass on. It wasn't like you were slacking off or something.

Maybe next time just practice doing some questions that are related to the material of the test.

and btw, if youre stressing yourself out and studying your ass off and still getting 77%....maybe Harvard isn't a good place for you to aim for?? =S
Just a thought. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Wow, wait till you learn to do some pure mathematics. I spent 5 pages proving every number can be written as the sum of 4 square roots or 0. This was after I finished everything and cleaned all my writing up (I rewrote everything, the whole thing combined is 10+ pages). There are some real freaks out in this world who actually enjoy 100+ page proofs >_< (very very fucking smart freaks... maybe I shouldn't call them freaks -.-z).

School is only gonna get harder and there's no such thing as a free A once you get into difficult enough courses (unless you're a genius). People don't want to wake up at 6 AM in the morning and go to work, they do it because they HAVE to. You just have to learn to cope with it.

If you're only a freshman (you're 14 right?) and this is happening, you really need to change your study habits. You don't have to study day and night to get A's, you just have to be efficient in your studying. Perhaps try to go to the library (don't bring anything except a bottle of water and your books). 1 hr of studying in the library is like 5 hrs of studying at home for me cause I literally have jack shit to do there except to study, and the shit really sinks in if you really put your mind to it.

I actually learned piano for 12 years (from 6 all the way to 18). I passed the advanced level in music theory and it was the most horrible thing ever for me and I wanted to quit everyday. Finally I did quit (senior year) and I thought it was awesome. And then I got into a jam group with my buddies (we play Jazz and Blues) and there are some people who are just brilliant. Now I actually want to go back learning piano so I could get better at Jazz but college won't afford me the time to do such a thing. Keep learning violin, it'll help some day (I know a wicked Jazz violinist).

Yeah if you're doing it to only please your parents, get over yourself, in college its gonna be your responsibility to get good grades, so if you don't care, goood luck.

Good point. If you wanna go through the hard work of getting great grades, do it for yourself.

Don't be too intimidated. People will tell you stuff like so-and-so is so much harder, diff. equations this, real analysis that. Just do your best, work up good study habits that allow you to be time efficient, and motivate yourself and you should be fine regardless of what level of education you're in.

I scrolled down, and my this caught my eye, because I thought it said "Meth". Anyhow, I'm absolutely horrible at math. I was good at it back in the earlier years, when it was division, and fractions, and such. I even did well in Algebra. At the start anyhow. I never did my homework, and missed loads of school. So, uh, yeah, it just kinda went down the crapper from there.

Hey relax, not a big deal. What you need to do is either hang out with friends, or study. Don't half-ass study, because thats the worst thing to do. Soon you will be burned out from school. Get a strict schedule, and have set study time and fun time....I think thats the best way.
Do you really want chat rooms?

The problem with math (and to some extent other natural sciences like physics) is this combination:

1) If you miss/do poorly for like a year or two in school, you will have HUGE problems catching up afterwards, because everything builds on what you have done previously.
This is not so much in other subjects. You don't need to know ancient history to understand WW2, you don't need to know the names of all US states to go deeper into African strutures, etc.

2) Around high school people go through puberty, and then school does not seem very important for most.

Go figure... I'd say that this is a major cause of so many people going "math is sooo hard", "i'm stupid!!!", "I hate math!" etc. I don't have anything backing that up though, except for a little bit of experience in teaching.

So my advice to you is:
yes, school is not most important thing in life, and at your age all proffesors seem stupid. But try to tag along reasonably in math, at least so you can catch up later if you want to.

Well I wouldn't be that worried if it was just one test. I mean what is your average in that class? If you still have an A then there is no problem. I failed 2 math tests in a row last year and that's when I realized I need to actually study and I finished the year with an A. Just don't get discouraged and focus.
Shorts down shorts up, BOOM, just like that.
