As some of you have probably not noticed, I haven't logged onto FBW or played broodwar in a really longass time. That's because I started working on recording a death metal album and doing all the recording shit myself meant I had literally zero free time for two and a half months, and I was in no mood to play vidyas. For the curious, the album is streaming from here: https://www.decibelmagazine.com/2018/03/23/demolisten-ripped-to-shreds/
My motivation to play games in general is quite low now. Originally I just couldn't stand multiplayer games anymore because the way my friends' personalities and mine clashed just produced an extremely toxic environment when it came to playing Dota or csgo or league or whatever, but now I feel complete ennui when I even think about booting up a singleplayer game. The last time I tried to play games a couple months ago I set up a DND game with my friends (me DM'ing) and we managed to piss each other off in session zero because of drama with DND that happened a year ago that derailed another campaign, so I quit again. Hoping Far Cry 5 and POE2 will be good but not having a ton of hope there lol. Still watching BW streams and ASL vods but I don't feel that desire to play or try a new sick build like I used to. Maybe that's a part of getting old :/
edit: https://rippedtoshredsdeathmetal.bandcamp.com only got 5 tape copies left

This is a great album! How difficult was it to learn all the instruments? Are you touring in the future?

Listening to it now. Could recognize some inspiration from Entombed, even before reading the article. Sounds amazing. I also really liked the article, learning about the background of these songs is really nice.

Thanks guys!
@Chairman Ray: I've been playing guitar for almost 12 years, drums about 3ish and doing harsh vox for about 1.5. I did take normal singing lessons to improve my voice's endurance/power for about a year. I need to get a live band together for shows, but right now that's not at the top of my priorities

This is good stuff I wish I could add it to my spotify honestly

i'll be putting it up on spotify on tuesday

The production is similar to dismember isn't it? I just started listening. Interesting stuff for now. Good to see a metalhead bw fan, and a musician nonetheless!
Edit: No joke this is pretty damn good, I want to listen more but for some reason the streaming service stopped working for me?

Was it difficult to train harsh vox? Does it really hurt your throat? I've always been impressed how they can do hour long live shows and not be coughing up blood.

lol that's the thing that scares me if I decided to start doing my own music

Proper technique should not hurt. There are a lot of bad singers who managed to ruin their voice and they had to completely change how they did their harsh vox because they put a lot of stress on their throats. Pushing from your diaphragm and being mindful that you're vibrating your false vocal chords rather than the back of your throat are two important things. Beyond that it's just making sure that you warm up with vocal exercises (normal singing stuff) and improve breath control and power.

I just purchased this. My first impression is that is fairly inconsistent. 撿骨and Yellow River Incident, 1938 stood out to me to be very good. 撿骨 in particular reminded me of Horrendous (which is very good in my book), and it was well executed. In other songs, the tempo changes seemed forced, and there were many riffs that seemed quite generic and put me to sleep. I do like the cover art quite a bit.
I should say I am very picky about OSDM, and many of the classics I find boring. Recently, the only albums that I have been playing regularly are the new Sinister, Brutally Deceased, and the last two Horrendous albums.
Have you submitted this to angrymetalguy.com? I find their reviews to be of a much higher quality than other sites and magazines. Some of the quotes on your bandcamp seem very generic.
Best of luck, and I hope to hear more from you, especially if you go further in the Horrendous direction.

Thanks for the support! I know what you mean about the inconsistency, chalk it up to 'first album' Definitely will be better on that front next time around. Obviously I'm a big fan of Horrendous, but I prefer their first two to Anareta. I think the biggest regret on this album is not enough d-beats or grind, and I'm planning on pulling in more stenchcore influence while still retaining some of that 'epic' or melodic feel that Horrendous has.
I don't handle subs myself but I assume my PR team has submitted to AMG haha
