EPTI've been working on some new tracks, and attempting to learn as much as I can about EQ work and mixdowns on my stuff. I have also been doing some work on making my own presets and sounds by messing around with Native Instruments Massive. I'm slowly learning more and more about waveforms and how to use them.
Here's a couple tracks that I made since my last blog:
-Hymn

This track came pretty much out of no where. The "organ" intro was a first-take record, with only a few small MIDI edits on a couple notes that weren't quite aligned correctly. Obviously, it's nothing amazing, but I'm not the most experienced piano player, and definitely have never learned any church hymns or songs, but I was proud that I got all of that out on only one try. The following piano part came from chord arpeggios that I played and ended up editing the speed to sound a bit different. The rest slowly fell into place, and I'm happy with what I ended up with. I put a lot of emotion into this track, hopefully someone here enjoys it!
Giedi Prime

This one is one of my favorites so far, and all of the vocals and soundclips featured are from the 1984 movie, "Dune", inspired by Frank Herberts novel. I always enjoyed the movie and books as a kid. Giedi Prime is the home planet of the evil House Harkonnen, and is used as an allegory to show what would happen if a civilization would choose to run their society based around military power, greed, and oppression. If we don't acknowledge the present, how can we understand the future? I hope someone understands what I was going for
(Hint, the world we live in today)-In the movie, House Atreides has developed a type of warfare that is based around using certain powerful sounds to in turn transmute them into powerful energy waves that can be harmful. I always thought this was a really cool sci-fi idea

I made a mini EP that started with my initial track, "Mountains Of The Mind", and I ended up making a second part called "The Means To Climb". My idea was based around the "mountains", or struggles, our minds create as mental barriers. We all know that fear, uncertainty, and anxiety are at times an over reaction to a situation we haven't actually experienced and make things seem harder than they actually are. The second track is based upon "the means to climb" said mountains, and how we overcome mental challenges.

I took 4 of my earlier tracks and released them as an EP as well. My EP is available on Spotify, Beatport, iTunes, Amazon, Google, and others. I don't think I've sold any yet, but I didn't actually release them with intention to sell anything, I just wanted to get out there and make it official. It wasn't until after I released I realized that they would be charging people on those sites to purchase. If I make any money, I plan to donate it back to the community.

I took the first release spot, but I am releasing a track by my friend PsyEntz tomorrow, and plan to do a release each week split among us all. He is also working on a monthly "Full Moon" mix that will be released on January 1st, the first full moon of 2018. I am interested to see where this will take me, and it's nice to have something constructive to work on that will help all of us.
