How I missed you all. Well to be fair, while I haven't posted much in a long time and only logged in once in awhile, I did still visit often just to check out the news and happenings. Since the last time that I have been active in SC2 and TL a lot has changed in my life:
1. Got married. Hopefully marriage number two will end better than the first one did.
2. Work work work - got promoted multiple times into different roles in the few years since. Now I run IT teams all over Northern California and the Bay Area.
3. My son is now 8 years old. I think he was 3 or 4 when I stopped playing and streaming often.
4. Moved back home in California since then - I love being home.
5. Started a side business in photography, landscapes and modeling mostly. I am all over social media and if anyone wants to check out my work, hit me up!
6. Have been working on a large-scale long term travel project with my wife documenting certain historical landmarks.
So why am I here now? Well, to be honest my son has gotten into video games more as he has gotten a bit older and I decided I wanted to show him what real competitive gaming looked like currently so I started rewatching the last GSL (2017 S3) with him. He has gotten into it some, but being young still the game a bit advanced for him. He does like many of the players and always picks who he wants to win, usually based on whomever isn't Zerg because they are gross bugs he says. It was good to see 5 foreigners in the ro32 - even though none of them moved passed both Scarlett and Major looked good.
I forgot how much I loved watching the matches, Tastosis commentating, and the entire community. While I still have SC2:WoL and SC2:HotS, I had yet to buy LofV. That had to be fixed. I ordered the special edition last week and installed it as soon as I could. I have been playing through the campaign and well, decided it may be time to start streaming again (for both of my followers, lol) so I reinstalled all of that stuff and got it configured and finally streamed for a bit last night for the first time in a LONG time - so far just playing through the campaign and some of the Co-Op stuff which I still am not fully understanding what is going on there. I hope to start laddering again in the new future...start back on a routine of at least 3 ladder games a day - if all goes well.
Do I hope that I can stick with it more this time? Maybe get back into streaming and or doing some kind of show or podcast work again? Yes, for sure. A friend of mine does a comics/geek podcast weekly (called Graphic Content) and invited me as a guest a couple months ago and I remembered how much I loved doing it. While I don't have the time to dedicate to the old shows (SC2 NewSCast, Yo Graphic Raps) I am hoping to put something together and at least find a monthly project that involves streaming and games again. That is why I had to cancel those other projects - even with the free time I had it is extremely difficult to keep up the schedules and some of the helpers and co-hosts were not the most reliable, didn't quite have the same work ethic. We shall see though - family and work life always throws a wrench into things.
It makes me feel good to hop back into this site, find my favorite and subscribed threads again, and see familiar names, streams, faces, blogs, and conversations. I love that TL is still here during ins and out and ups and down.
GGWL everyone!
