I thought it is time to talk about trophies in sc2. The topic probably would have been closed rather quickly in the starcraft 2 general section so i made a blog post about it (good idea Elentos!)
The most important part here obviously is photos, nobody knows what you are talking about when saying "G5L" (sorry Inflicted). Don't forget to post an actual image of your favorite trophies otherwise other people cannot get angry about your choice and tell you how wrong you are, that would be a shame.
Personally i loved the OSL one, it's not the typical looking cup, there is more creativity to it and i like that quite a bit:

It might not be the trophy which is 30 kg of pure gold like the WESG one (

) but it has a unique style and the history of the tournament plays a role as well i guess.
What are your favorite trophies in sc2's history? Do you agree with me that the SSL one was a total failure?

Show your taste and argue why it's the best one. I am sure other people are excited to be wrong

I don't have a most favourite cup/trophy but my most hated one would probably the IEM Gyeonggi trophy (if you can even call it a trophy)

By googling starcraft trophies you can find some more classical that looks a bit like the one in football, they are more "cups" than trophies though.

Golden mouse is a good choice imo (even though nobody in sc2 got it

), and in this case it included even about 300 grams actual gold

I believe at one point some of the GSL (or WCS?) trophies were Xel'Naga artifact pieces, and later on there was a completed Xel'Naga artifact trophy. I thought that was a nice touch even though the trophies were kinda boring.

That IEM "trophy" lent itself nicely to some hilarious Inno memes:

Personally, I like the classic trophies best. Blizzcon and IEM, engraved with players' names, carrying with them pieces of esports history...

Yeah the blizzcon one is pretty decent i think

That IEM disk looks great. I think the Blizzcon monstrosity is the worst.

An important overlooked quality a trophy should have is how transportable it is. Most winners have to fit it on a plane when leaving the tournament you know!

You have a point there, i only really considered the aesthetics so far tbh.

From all the mentions so far i like the golden mouse the best, then comes the OSL one. Not sure about the third place, probably the WESG one though
