I'm 27. Lately I realized that I am more picky/negative than I was 7 years ago and I don't know the reason. Before you say 'it's normal', hang on: I'm not talking about a positive change, something like 'sure I could ride that motorcycle without a helmet' and then realizing that you were an idiot and would not do that again, or being more picky about the restaurants you choose That is maturity and it is positive.
I'm talking about different things. Let me make an example. When I moved to another country for six months in 2010, everything was good. Just excitement over and over again. If I had to move now, just taking a look at the burocracy makes my head spin. What about the rent types, chosing between single or shared flat, managing your finances...
Then I look back at 2010 and all those problems were there. They were there but I simply ignored them - or better, not even acknowledged they existed - and life felt amazing. Why? What was different? Nowadays, remembering all the sets of stairs I had to do and forms I had to fillI just to collect a stupid starter pack feels like wearing a lead jacket.
One of the greatest mysteries of my life
