Been awhile since an update, so little history, was stupid as hell and started training again too soon after injuring my MCL, and really fucked it up side lining my ass for an extra 3+ months. Feels strong now but been babying it just to make sure.

Heading down with the team to Fresno this weekend for the Grappling X jiujitsu tournament. Any TL-grapplers in the area should come check it out, either to compete or just watch. http://grapplingx.org/ is the site if you want the address and times or to sign up.

I'll be competing in the Adult Male 200+ Purple Belt class and the Absolute. Haven't been able to really test myself in probably 6months so itching to get rolling.

something went wrong with my hands and i havent been able to punch in gloves for months, its like the shape of the gloves doesnt work with my hands anymore so impact causes fracture-type pain on my fingers instead of the impact being on my knuckles.

i tried a load of different gloves and wrapping and without wrapping and sometimes i get just the right angle to the punch and its OK but 95% of the time its been total fail and i cant punch at all without feeling like my fingers are about to fracture. more in the right fingers but also the left.

i thought at one point that the problem was that my hands had weakened too much after no gym so i wasnt making a proper fist anymore, but the problem was still occuring in the following weeks when trying to make a strong fist and thinking i had it figured.

eventually i have found the ONLY thing that has worked and that is to use MMA gloves (instead of 16oz or whatever) but wrap my hands first and jam them in (otherwise my skin tears to shreds in them). so now i am very very happily back to PUNCHING again!!

For me personally it becomes too easy for skipping a day to turn into skipping a week, so I really force myself to go to at least 1 class a day regardless of how much outside shit I have going on. The fiancee is super effective at nagging me about it if I do start trying to make an excuse to skip a day.

Started with a grade 2 sprain, then went back too soon and it upgraded to a grade 3 tear, at which point it should have only been about 6weeks, but I was dumb and kept trying to get back to training too soon and ended up making it take ~4months
